Noah walked over to the kitchen sink and froze. He cruised himself for opening the door and now leaving Sybillie alone with Rhidian sense it seemed he was fine. Still its not like he could do anything with her anyway. He had avoided women for so long due to his father sending him to a camp to help his warrior skills.
Still something about her called to him. She saw everything he wasn't and maybe that was a reason he did. Other then she being the first woman he actually thought was breathing gorgeous. Even though he seemed casually and cool he really was terriyfed around her. Well not just her but women in general because he didn't know what made them tick. He still was going to try though.
As he filled up a bowel of hot water he headed to a closet near Jasper's room to grab a towel when he heard a mans voice. It wasn't Jasper's voice though. It sounded rough and harsh and pissed. He began to reach for the doorknob not knowing what to expect but he would be ready for anything.
...............
Hayden smiled big at Jasper. "Its not that simple old man. Unless you want to do another job for me I need you to lay on the bed." Jasper watched the old man with an intense gaze. If only Jasper knew the truth that he did not truly own him. The last job he had done for Hayden freed him but he ran off before he could explain that. If it wasn't for his love being in the other room he would let Jasper live. Hints on trying to figure out a human way to kill him to make it seem it was the old man's passing instead of murder.
As Jasper lay on his back he closed his eyes. Hayden felt a tightening in his chest as he grabbed a pillow and placed it over Jasper's face suffocating him.
Suddenly Hayden turned and couldn't stop the fist from connecting with his face which sent him flying back onto the floor. What happened next was all in a blur.
Hayden found himself on the front lawn outside the store. He had no idea how he got there but his driver rushed over and got him into the car taking off before she could see him.
...
Noah saw Jasper's body twisting and turning as he gasped for air and there was no hesitation when Noah rushed over and punched him in the face. Then he picked him up and tossed him out the closed window. The sound of shattering glass was sure to bring Rhidian running.
He took the pillow off of Jasper's face. The old man's breathing was low but he was still alive. "Jasper!" Noah shouted trying to get him to answer him. "Its ok Jasper. I'm here!" He wasn't totally for sure what to do and hoped someone else knew because he was in a panic state. His mind wasn't clear on how to save the man he really concerned like a father to him. "Rhidian come quick!" He shouted knowing he couldn't think to do much else.

(OOC: Hahaha, I'm probably just tired as I read the last couple of posts but I keep reading it as Noah rushes over to punch Jasper in the face and throw him out the window. I'm gonna assume that's actually Hayden getting the smackdown LOL)
Rhidian noticed Sybille stiffen slightly when he spoke to her, he could tell his presence was causing a reaction in her and his already over-inflated ego rose another notch. She replied with a heavy German accent though her English was fine, probably better than his, or so he mused. She had a smooth voice that could send shivers down a man's spine. On closer inspection he realised she was definitely a nice looking woman. She was probably wearing to many clothes for his taste but he could imagine what she would look like in something less comfortable.
“Oh well...” Rhidian started to answer her question and decided first to point at the plaster on his neck. “Vampire. Everything else was pretty much a blur.” He lifted the front of his T-shirt to reveal some bruises on his torso, but of course it was really a shameless act to show off his toned six-pack abs and muscular chest. Pulling the material back down he continued, “I think I remember some bouncers in a club and yelling. If you think I took a beating though you should have seen the other guy.” He winked at Sybille, relishing the opportunity to flirt with her, if only to wind Noah up if nothing else came of it.
The moment was ruined when the sound of a smashing window sounded loudly from another room. Jumping to his feet, Rhidian experienced a rare moment of gallantry action where normally he was more concerned about himself. “Stay here.” He warned Sybille, obviously not in any way suspecting she had the skills to kill several men like himself. Not taking the time to find out if Sybille was going to follow his instruction or not he headed off into the hallway and found the noises were coming from the direction of his grandfather's room.
Rhidian could hear Noah's voice now, calling his name and he went into the room through the open door and discovered the half Angel standing over Jasper on the bed. A chill breeze crept into the room through the ruined window.
“What the f*ck is going on?” He wanted to know, but realised there wasn't time to listen to an explanation. He came to stand beside Noah, his blue eyes wide with panic as Jasper lay deathly still, his breathing shallow and ragged. “I think we better get him t a hospital...”

(OOC: Tonight on WWE Smackdown... sorry, the first thing that came to mind. LOL.)
There was no doubt that Rhidian was attractive, but it was also evident that he had some growing up to do. Her hands running their way up her leg to rest on her knee, simply was a habit. For some men, it was all it took with just a little less clothes and a pair of heels. If Rhidian would have known her better, he'd know that the majority of the time, she wore tight skirts and blouses which accented her bust, and always a pair of heels. But, today was the one off day that she had. A simply pair of jeans, a t-shirt with matching hoodie, and some Converse tennis shoes was her outfit of the day.
Studying his neck, she'd listen to his explanation. Vampires seemed to be a common occurrence, so it seemed. This was strange to her. Once he'd lift his shirt, she stared at his abdomen, riddled with bruises. She could tell what he was doing, and it had some what worked, just not as quickly as Rhidian would've liked. It took more than just a flash of a nice body to interest her, though it was a start. She was more concerned with Noah though, he was taking an awfully long time...
Hearing the smashing of the window, she too jumped to her feet. Something had been going on, and it was evident from the energies that she'd felt. Watching Rhidian rush his way up the stairs, she paused for a few moments before she followed. Interference with fate had dire consequences, but little did she know that it had been more than just that.
Walking to the room with all of the commotion, she stood off to the side, in a corner. Studying the old man, he had looked oddly enough very familiar...but she couldn't put her finger on it.

"Hospital..." Noah said trying to rap his head around the word. Then finally realizing he picked up Jasper and turned towards Rhidian. "Hospital." He rushed past them, down the stairs and out the door to the car. Both were hot on his tracks as they jumped into the car and took off like a bat out of hell.
Noah held onto Jasper as he just stared down at his face. "Don't you dare die on me old man. Do you hear me?! Don't you dare!" Noah had never lost anyone he cared about before and he wasn't sure if Jasper did die how he was going to handle it.
As they got to the hospital they rushed Jasper inside as nurses and doctors took him from Noah and disappeared. Noah watched the madness before and his panic and fear suddenly turned into rage.
He began to rush out the door screaming that he was going to kill him. Rhidian and Sybille rushed off after Noah before he got to the car.
They demanded to know what happened but was not expected to see tears and rage in the half angels eyes.
"It happened so fast. A man had a pillow over Jasper's face. I rushed over and punched the stranger in the face and then sent him out the window." Noah raged with clenched fists wanting so badly to find the guy and kill him. "I don't know who he was but I'd be damned if I am going to wait around until he tries to kill Jasper again!"
Noah never felt so many emotions like this towards anyone. He was confused, hurt, angry, scared, panic, rage, etc. It was new to him. He didn't even care for his own father sense he knew couldn't die anyway being an angel. But Noah started to understand why angels or even gods never got involved with humans. To many emotions and with power comes stupidity. He wanted to tortured the monster forgetting all he was taught and no amount of reasoning Rhidian tried would change his mind.
.......
"F*ck!" Hayden screamed pulling a piece of glass out of his forearm.
"Are you alright sir?" His driver asked with concern.
"No! That stupid little angel f*cked this up!" Hayden growled.
"I thought no one could touch you when you were in that state."
"Well it seems I was wrong. Noah being half angel can." He huffed as he pulled another piece of small glass out of his forearm. "Dammit! I'm going to f*cking torture that little prick!"
"Why not just kill him?"
"Because I sense someone else has something more to do with all this. If so I want to send him a little message."
Hayden took out his cell phone and dialed Lily. "I want you to go to St. Judes for me. I am sure that Jasper isn't dead so I need you to head over there and too...."
"Well hello to you too baby."
"Focus Lily. I need you too..."
"To go over and kill this Jasper guy, right?"
"No. I want you to find a guy named Noah Blaze and take him back to the hide out. He is half angel so I need you too..."
"Wait, what? Half angel you say? Can I play with him?"
Hayden sighed. What a sex kitten. "Lily focus, ok? I need him out of the mix. He is f*cking up my plans."
"You're no fun," she said with a pout.
"Fine but not until I talk with him first."
"Deal," she said like a child excited for their new toy.
"Oh and Lily have Brent call me. I have a mission for him too."
"Right away darling," she hung up.
How could not smile. She had been his right hand for as long as he could remember and she would do anything for him and to him he asked. Although it was pathetic in away. She had feeling for him more then he did for her. Even though she knew it she still stayed to help him for fill his plan.
'What a woman' he thought to himself.
Suddenly his phone rang and he answered saying, "I need you to go over to St Judes and keep an eye on someone for me. His name is Jasper Coltrane. If he leaves the hospital then grab him and bring him to the hide out."
"Yes sir," Brent said hanging up.
Hayden wasn't ready for his love to meet him just yet. He would do what he could to get the other two out of his way then she would be his.
(OOC: Hayden doesn't know about Rhidian being in the mix. Can still make this go few more posts before Lily makes her move and I plan on her to have a good distraction. But the three still need to talk with Jasper. Continue on.)

(OOC: Hehe Smackdown... those were the days.)
Rhidian followed Noah as the half angel fled the hospital screaming about revenge. He glanced at Sybille who was still with them and wondered why the woman wouldn't have simply made her exit as soon as she was able. What held her to accompany them? Perhaps she and Noah were closer than he had first assumed. Maybe she even knew Jasper? His mind was still processing just what the hell had occurred over the last few minutes. There was one thing Rhidian knew for sure, he shouldn't have come back to the City of the Damned... but it was a little too late to change that.
They caught up to Noah as he was attempting to enter his car and Rhidian asked Noah what had happened. He paused as he listened to what the half angel had to say.
“Noah, stop a second,” Rhidian started, not sure exactly what he was going to say, or why he should bother getting himself involved in the first place. It wasn't like he owed either of them anything. It was just rotten luck he was related to Jasper. His every instinct told him this was time to bail but for some reason he chose to stay. For the moment at least.
“If the attacker really was a stranger to you, then how are you going to find him? If he wants to hurt Jasper, surely this is where he'll come? Think about it.” Rhidian gave Noah a serious look, raising his eyebrows for empathise before turning to shrug at Sybille. “It was nice meeting you, shame it wasn't under better circumstances...” Yeah, like in swim wear and hanging out in a hot tub, he thought, but didn't voice his opinion.
Turning on his heel and thanking whatever god cared to listen that he had had a chance to put some sneakers on before leaving the apartment, Rhidian headed back towards the hospital. He left Noah and Sybille to decide whatever they wanted to do on their own.
Rhidian found out which room Jasper was being kept in from a nice looking receptionist and headed to the ward, pausing only to get himself an awful coffee from a conveniently placed vending machine.
Rhidian entered a private room and sat in a chair in the corner of the room facing Jasper's bed. The old man was hooked up to a machine that beeped every few seconds and the lights were dimmed to perhaps allow a more relaxing atmosphere.
“Always said you should leave this place old man, looks like you must have left it too late.”
Rhidian sighed, sitting forward and resting his elbows on his knees as he watched his grandfather. The cup in his hands still had some vile coffee in it. Despite the taste it was nice to have some liquid in his throat and his motivation was purely caffeine fuelled by now. He decided he would wait the night to see if Jasper woke up, then he would be out of this dump in the morning...

Hearing Noah curse and damn who ever did this was intriguing to her. She'd never of guessed that even part of an angel would get so angry. She loved it though. Everything and everyone had a dark side, even angels so it seemed. Her hands ran their way through her hair as she would have caught Rhidian staring at her, and she knew what he was thinking.
"It was nice meeting you too", she'd simply say. Her eyes narrowing, she'd sigh.
Yet for some reason she couldn't stay away.
Turning to Noah, she'd try to comfort him, even though it was foreign to her. "Everything will be okay", she'd say as she had gently put a hand on his shoulder and rubbed it gently, "I'll be here if you need me, I know this wasn't ideal for you for me to see, but it's alright."
For the first time since Noah had seen her, she smiled at him softly. However, there was little emotion behind it. It was hard for her to smile, she'd always been able to smirk or snicker. But, smiling had been foreign to her after Erich had passed.

Noah didn't know what to do. He wanted to badly to rush out to find his attacker but Rhidian did get some words in that Noah was now replaying in his mind. His reasoning made sense. He didn't know the man that almost killed Jasper and he hated the fact of that. Still maybe Jasper said something, anything to help him figure it out. Jasper had told him so many stories of his days in the war. Good and bad. It shouldn't be that hard to figure that out, right?
He turned towards Sybille as he now focused on her words and comfort. It was new to have a woman being so kind to him like she was trying to be even though he had thoughts of rage he never thought he could have. The moment was nice as he turned to her as he said, "I am sorry for this but I am thankful for your kind words and kindness. It means a lot." Although he hated that Rhidian didn't seem as upset as he was about all this and wished for his comfort too he was still thankful Sybille was here.
"I wish I knew what to do to help. I feel so helpless and I hate it." Unsure of what to do or say he just stood there staring at her. Then he realized how beautiful she looked in this light. She was really was as he thought before, breath taking. "Do you need me to get you anything?" He asked hoping he could do something to feel useful before returning to Jasper's bedside.
..........
Lily watched through a scope ready to do what she needed to do in order to kidnap the man she saw on the other end. "Be ready to take him by any means," she snapped at the five other soldiers she brought with her.
"Yes, ma'am."
As she watched she saw the tenderness between the half angel and the other woman who she could only suspect being the woman that Hayden had his sights sent on. 'She doesn't look like much,' Lily thought to herself. How she could just take her out with the sniper she held right now but then Hayden would kill her. So with that in mind she just waited to see if the girl would leave his side. If not then she could still have her men distract the woman while Lily makes her getaway with Noah.

...Blood flowed like wine. He bit into the woman's neck and clutched her body to his like some horrific parody of a loving embrace... but there was no love shared in this act, just a depraved cruelty as she died in his arms so that he could live. Forever young, forever strong... Rhidian dropped the woman's twitching corpse and watched her tumble to the floor as he stood gasping for air with her blood smeared across his jaw and his mouth open wide with his fangs protruding from his gums...
Rhidian snapped awake with a sharp intake of breath. He must have only nodded off for a second but the sudden realisation that he had fallen asleep filled him with enough adrenaline to all but jump out of the chair. “Christ.” He muttered and rubbed his eyes with his thumb and forefinger. Recent events must have been getting to him. It seemed he was dreaming about being a vampire. Subconsciously he touched the wound on his neck and decided it was probably about time to get that sorted out. His heart still thumped aggressively in his chest like he had just run a marathon.
Rhidian started as he remembered why he was here and looked over at Jasper. The old man could have died already and he wouldn't have known it... but the steady beeping was resuming its steady, droning pace. Calming himself down, Rhidian was grateful Noah had not been there to witness him giving a sh1t about his grandfather. He didn't know why but he preferred to keep up the carefree attitude around the half-angel, he didn't like anyone knowing what was really going on inside his head.
“Still alive old man?” Rhidian asked the unconscious slumberer as he stretched his arms above his head and yawned. Relaxing, he gazed over his grandfather and noticed the old man's eyes moved rapidly beneath his closed lids. What was he dreaming about? As if I have to ask, Rhidian thought to himself. Jasper was all about the glory days, the war and soldiering meant everything to him. Just like it meant everything to his father and used to mean everything to Rhidian.
Pushing the thoughts aside, Rhidian leaned over Jasper and watched his face. “Jasper?”
The old man groaned and looked like he was starting to come round. Wrinkly eye lids fluttered open and his watery blue eyes peered up at the younger man. “That you son?” Jasper wheezed.
Rhidian paused, it had been a while since Jasper had regarded him as anything like that. “Uh... yeah it's me.”
Jasper sighed with relief. “Oh thank god it's you Noah, I thought you were that demon.”
“Jasper it's Rhidian.” The younger man corrected him, standing back up and folding his arms defensively. He couldn't help but wonder where the half-angel actually was.
“Oh.” Jasper closed his eyes again and let out a wheezing cough. He tried to turn onto his side to face away from his grandson. “Sorry.”
Rhidian sighed with exasperation and dragged his chair over. Sitting beside Jasper's bed he let his eyes travel to the medical equipment. “Tell me about who did this to you.”
“Why? I didn't think you'd care.” Jasper narrowed his eyes as he glared over his shoulder at him.
“Then don't tell me, Jesus.” Rhidian snapped, resisting the urge to strangle the old man. Any more b*llsh*t and he was walking out the door.
“Maybe I should tell you,” Jasper said, his voice quivering with emotion, like he was afraid to mention anything about his attacker. “You won't like what you're about to hear... and now was the worst time for you to come back...”

"What Jasper needs now, is you and Rhidian. I do not need anything", she said sternly.
Taking Noah's hand, she pulled him to come back inside. She was only being nice to him for one reason. She wanted to taint that sweet angel, and her senses had warned her of another. Therefore, she had gotten paranoid.
Escorting Noah inside, she'd walk into the room where Jasper was kept. Hearing the Rhidian and Jasper speaking to one another, she gently opened the door to see Jasper awake. "Ah, gute, he is awake", she'd bring Noah inside and let go of his hand. She didn't want neither Rhidian or Jasper to see her hand holding onto Noah's. Faith would know that Jasper would be alright. Standing, she leaned up against one of the walls, her eyes narrowing at the old man.
God, he looked so familiar. But, she couldn't put her finger on it. It made her nervous, and her chest hurt with a near-panic. Something that she hadn't felt in a long while. What could possibly make her feel this way? He was just an old man.

Noah nodded silently at Sybille unsure of what to say to her. She was being so kind to him. The only other person he was truly close to was Jasper and with that thought he let her lead him back inside to make sure his friend and what he concerned his father was alright.
As they walked he wanted to say something, anything to her but he wasn't very good talking to women. More so when he found he had a crush on said woman.
When they made it to Jasper's room they paused. Noah was surprised to already hear Jasper's voice so as they walked in he went right over and took Jasper's hand in his.
"Are you alright?" He asked tone full of concern. "Do you know who did this? Why did they try to kill you? How can I find the bastered?"
Noah was horrified to see his "father" in such a state. He hated that he was so powerless and so unsure of what to do. How could he have let this happen to the only person he loved.
Noah hugged Jasper then. Tears running down his cheeks as he whispered into his "father" ear, "I can't lose you." He would be so lost without him. All would be lost in Noah's world and would be filled of nothing but rage and revenge.
......
Lily was just about to give the command to attack when the woman took Noah's hand and rushed them back inside.
"Dammit!" She huffed.
"Orders?" One of her soldiers asked.
"One moment," she said taking out her phone and dialing.
Brent picked up in the first ring. "What do you want? I'm..."
"Busy and at the hospital." She finished for him. "Listen to me. I am too."
"What? Why?"
"My orders is to kidnap a guy called Noah Blaze."
"Well mine are to keep an eye on an old man named Jasper."
"Listen do you have visually on them and is so is there a young guy and a woman in there now?"
"Yes."
"F*ck!" Lily cruised.
"What is it?"
"We need a big distraction to sperate them and fast!" She growled.
"Ah. I think I know just the thing! Leave it to me." Brent said as he hung up the phone.
Lily smiled knowing Brent was an expert not only with a sniper but with all things that go boom. She cpuldn't wait to see just what Brent was going to do.

Rhidian turned his head to face the door as the other two suddenly entered the room, cutting Jasper off as he was about to begin explaining what had happened to him.
Jasper struggled to sit up and smiled weakly as Sybille commented that he was awake. Jasper was sure he had never met the young woman before but he was a very quick old man and the fact they were trying so hard not to look like they were together, there was definitely something between her and Noah. Good. Jasper decided, it was a very good thing for Noah to have someone else to be close to besides one old man in a very dark world.
Rhidian got out of his chair and moved aside for Noah to get to his grandfather. He stepped away from the bed and stood beside Sybille.
“I'm alright, my boy.” Jasper said, trying to reassure the fretting half angel. He patted his back and sighed deeply. “I should of told you a long time ago about this. I was a very selfish old man when I took you in. I should of known not to involve you in my troubles. I'm sure it's the real cause of my son, Chet's death.”
Rhidian's jaw clenched angrily but his face was hidden in shadow in the dark room so Jasper couldn't truly read his expression. He turned his gaze back to Noah instead.
“His name is Hayden and he is a demon,” Said Jasper, his eyes fixed on Noah, and Noah only. “I first encountered him during the war. He came to us soldiers in our most desperate of times, and he seemed particularly interested in me. He bargained to help me overcome the enemy if I would lead his army for him when it was all over. Knowing it would have been death for myself and my unit I did the only thing I could... I agreed. We slaughtered the cursed Nazis, defiling and desecrating their corpses as instructed as we stormed Germany itself. We showed no mercy even when we could have spared them and killed everything we encountered. Though we knew we were damning our souls... we were treated as heroes. Courageous and inspiring to the rest of the war effort. Hayden came back to me at the end of it all, impatient for me to fulfil my end of our bargain. By this time I had learned more about the supernatural world and had befriended a young witch. She had helped weave a protective spell on me so when I refused the demon, Hayden could not hurt me nor follow me as I made my escape. I have never seen that devil again... until tonight. I have no idea how he found me... but he won't stop until he has taken his revenge on me and I do not wish you to be a part of that... any of you. You must leave me to my fate.”...

Sybille just stared intently at the old man, knowing what he thought, she'd try to hide it the best she could. There was nothing between them to her, just a simple gain of trust. Or so, she thought. She knew what it probably looked like, which was fine. More trust on her end.
Though, once Jasper had begun telling his story, she'd raise a hand to her mouth to lightly cover it. Though, there was no expression of shock on her face. Slowly, she'd turn around, and pace slowly over to the window. She wanted to scream, hit something, anything, but she wouldn't do it here. Something was obviously bothering her, however...
Her thoughts wandered on, remembering the times she'd had with Erich, how much she missed him. How long ago it had been, and yet, the pain stung just as bad as it had the day he had passed away. God, she wished she could have been there. She wished she could have done anything, to keep her sweet love alive. Even her own life, in toll. But they had been separated from each other, and the instant they did, her and Erich simply knew that they wouldn't be seeing each other again. At least, not for a very, very long time.
"Those families, how they must have felt. It was the same for the Americans, coming home in a box. Orders are orders, and both sides were simply doing their just cause...", she'd say quietly. Her German accent filling the air, as she'd speak. Each word, taking their sweet time to sink in.
All she wanted, was a life. A life with her fiance. She'd never expected this to get this far.
"Jasper, was it? You must be a fool to think that Noah and your grandson would leave you to the wolves", her voice as stern and as a harsh as a Commander would have been. Unfortunately, from what she'd just done, she may have just given herself away in a vague way. Though, it didn't seem to bother her, at least not yet.

Noah didn't know what to think anymore. He knew Jasper was a soldier and what he had to do but to promise to something to a demon, Noah felt light headed. Listening to his story he realized what he had to do and Sybille confirmed it when she said that both men would stop at nothing to help Jasper.
"There is no way I am leaving you! I'll fight to keep you alive." He looked over at Rhihian who might felt differently about his grandfather. Noah wouldn't take it to heart if he would leave but there was no way in hell Noah was going to let some demon kill the only true father he knew.
"We need a plan to get him out of here! Any thoughts?" As they bounced ideas off one another trying to figure out what to do they were suddenly jumped as they heard a loud blast along with with the ground shaking. The emergency lights and fire alarms kicked on as screams were heard from outside the door.
"What the hell was that?" Noah asked staying next to Jasper. He was going to protect him at all cost....
.............
Brent headed into the front doors of the hospital. Looking around he set his gaze on a pretty little brunette nurse that just walked up to the check in desk. So he walked up to her and saw her name tag read 'Nichole.'
Putting on a flashy smile he said, "Hello, Nichole."
She turned her gaze from the chart in her hand and smiled big as she met Brent's gaze. "Hello. How can I help you?"
"Well I was told I needed to fix a pipe in the east wing. Is it possible you can show me where that is?"
She hesitated for a moment knowing that side was under a little construction and hated it over there. She smiled big and said, "Sure. Follow me."
As they pasted through the doors Brent made sure no one could see them. He quickly got into his bag and poured some chloroform on a rag. Nichole was about to turn towards him when Brent jumped up behind her and placed the rag over her mouth. Nichole didn't fight him to hard as he laid her on the ground next to their exit.
As he got into his bag again he grabbed a stick of dynamite and lighter. As he flicked on the lighter he said, "All for you Lily." He lite it and threw it. Picking up Nichole's limp body he turn and ran out a side door.
"5...4...3...2..."
The blast was loud from behind him but he made it to the clearing just before it went off. He laid Nichole in the grass and waited for his target to exit the building. His mission was more then what he wanted to relay to Lily but he was going to give her a chance to take hold of her target before he grabbed his. Hopefully though from all the screaming chaos happening they would get separated so they could grab them easier.
.......
Lily awaited outside the doors with her army ready to take hold of Noah the moment he walked by them. It was perfected and she would need to "thank" Brent later for his help.

Stood next to Sybille, Rhidian heard her quietly murmuring something and turned his head to look at her. Listening to her words he frowned. She sounded like she had been in the war... but that was impossible, she would have to be as old as his grandfather.
Jasper peered at the woman when she spoke to him. Her heavy German accent sent a shiver down his old spine. He narrowed his eyes at her as if trying to place her face. Little did he realise the first time he had seen this woman was the portrait of her that one of the defeated Nazi generals had kept in a locket.
“I couldn't live with myself if something happened to them... either of them.” He explained. “... I can tell Noah is fond of you... please, help him by getting him away from here.”
From Noah's words it seemed the half-angel wasn't planning to go anywhere soon, at least not without him. Jasper smiled lightly, though he wanted them to be safe he was afraid of being alone.
Then came the explosion.
The floor bucked beneath them as the lights went out and the corridors outside were filled with screaming voices. Plaster and cracked tiling fell down from the ceiling as alarms started wailing.
“It's got to be him.” Jasper said, trembling with fear. “He's come for me. You should all go. Now!” He gripped Noah's arm tightly, a sort of farewell gesture. He looked past him at Sybille. “Please, make him see sense, get him away from here and look after him!”
Rhidian had his hand against a wall to steady himself. He glared at the bed, at the old man and the half-angel. His dark hair was streaked white with dust and debris that was raining down from above them.
“Whatever we're gonna do we can't stay here.”
