The night was cold. Winter had come early here. The vampires and other creatures ignored her as they rushed by. She had a spell around her to keep herself unseen by simple creatures like that. Along side of her was her trusted two friends. One was a black panther named Lex and the other was a wolf named Brick. Both use to be very evil humans. A warlock casted a spell on them for their wrong doings and set them out on their own. Mera had saved both of them and now where trusted and loyal pets. Though she doesn't like treating like pets they wish for her to do just that.
So, as she walked with one on either side of her she entered a bar called Blood Den with her two pets beside her. She undid the spell and all heads turned in their direction.
The bar tender slammed a hand on the counter and was about to protest about the two animals being in his bar but then he saw who it was and thought twice of it. Instead he greeted her with a, "Same booth Ms. Mera?"
She smiled at him as it brighten up the room just a little. "Yes Jac. Thank you."
He had a waitress walk her and her pets over to the booth in the corner where she could see everyone and sat. Her pets remained on the floor in front of the openings to the seat so no one could just walk up and sit. They would have to go threw them first.
The waitress smiled at Mera and said, "Its good to see you back in here Ms. Mera."
"Well, its good to be back Amy."
"This place has been dead without you. No bun intended."
They both chuckled at that one.
"Thank you Amy. Its been a little quiet at my cabin in Night Rain so I thought it best to come here and see if their was anything I could do to help this city."
"It always needs help Ms. Mera. Day and night. You still living in that big house up on the hill?"
"Yes, I am. My people have kept up in nicely."
"That's good. Glad nothing bad happened to it while you were away. I know I would be upset if something like that happened to my house if it looked like that. I mean I'd never get that much money working here but it would be nice."
Mera thought for a moment. "Hey, here is an idea Amy. I need a person runner. Someone to help me out when I need it. Now, I dont want to keep you at night from here but do you think you would be interested in doing that. If some I will pay you very well and you get to live in that big house. My people would have to listen to you as if it were me giving the order."
Amy eyes grew wide. Excitment hit her then a frown. "But I am werewolf. Would that keep them from listening to me?"
"No. If I tell them to do something they will do it. It pays to be a witch Amy."
They both chuckled again.
Then Amy began to smile even bigger. "I will be more then happy too! A chance like this. Wow doesnt come along every day. I will do it!"
"But, wait. You must finish out the week here unless Jac doesn't mind. I dont want to leave him without a waitress."
"Oh of course. I will go talk to him now and bring you something to drink. What would you like? Oh wait I know. Be right back." And was gone before Mera could same anything more. It was a good thing she do this for this girl. She needed it. A change for the better and chance could be good but sometimes bad too. She then felt a chill go threw her but thought nothing more on it. She just watched Amy jumping around as she talked with Jac and then Jac giving her a what the hell grin but I understand. He seemed he wanted her to finish out the night and she would be free. It was going to be good for all of them. At least she hoped.
