She drove her pick up to the nearest drug store and parked in front. Her trusted dog Max hoped out of her passnager seat and followed her inside. The man behind the counter greeted her with a big smile as she greeted him the same.
"Well, hello Elizabeth. Its been awhile sense I think I've last seen ya. Is all ok?"
"Why, yes Dan, everything is great. Just been doing some huntin."
"Well, you must be careful little miss. Their are so many danagerous things out there. I dont think this town would feel safe if something happen to ya."
"No, worries Dan. I can handle myself. Why with my trusted Max here and my other dogs and traps I don't see anything bothering me anytime soon."
"Well, mighty glad to hear it. Now, what can I do you for?"
"Let's see," She said taking out her list, "I need a few bags of dog food, some, well..." She held out her hand as she handed him her list. "You can see for yourself. Its kind of a long list."
"Isnt it always," He said with a chuckle. As he looked at the list he nodded and said, "I have everything you need. I will get it together and pack it up for you in your pick up."
"Thanks Dan," as she headed for the door. "I must see Miss Sally. If I don't and she found out I came into town she will tare me a new one."
"Indeed she would. I will hurry and get this ready for you. Might be 15 to 20 minutes though."
"Take as long as you need. I am in no hurry."
"Alrighty then."
Elizabeth and her Husky walked out of the Drug Store and headed down towards the Saloon. As they entered the woman behind the counter smiled big as her eyes landed on her. Elizabeth smiled back at her with the same amount of excitment.
"Well, I never!" Miss Sally shouted as she came around the bar and rushed over to Elizabeth and took her in a big bear hug. As she pulled her back to arms link she said, "My child you are looking thin."
"I'm fine Miss Sally."
Then Max made a whipper sound as Miss Sally turned to him and petted his head, "Well hello young Max. I see you are keeping her in line." He let out a soft bark. "That's good to hear." She then turned her attention to Bart who was the bartener behind her bar. "Bart, get us some beers and a piece of jeerky for Max."
"Yes, ma'am."
They walked over to a table and sat. Bart brought over their drinks and Max took the piece of jeerky from Bart with ease but then tore into when he placed it in between his front paws to hold it steady.
"Its been a few months child," Miss Sally began, "We began to wonder."
"You should never worry over me Miss Sally. I am fine as you can see."
"I know but you're like a daughter to me and I just can't help it. I'm just a silly old fool of a woman running a saloon. Men think they can just come in here and take it from me but I've showed them."
"Yes, and you showed me that same fire and teached it to me too. I don't let no one mess with me either Miss Sally. You were a great mother to me and I do thank you for you're kindness and love."
Miss Sally's face was so warm felt it was nice for Elizabeth to see.
Elizabeth was a runaway little girl and some men had found her and was going to use and abouse her. She was only seven and that time and she was dirty and scared when they took her to this town where Miss Sally seen her and wanted to take her from the horrible men but they wouldn't let her. So Miss Sally played against them in a game of Poker and if she won then she got the little girl and if they won then the men would get Miss Sally and her bar. Still to this day she had no idea how Miss Sally won but she never liked to question it. She was just thankful she had won.
"You're welcome my dear," She said softly as they both took a sig of their beers. Then looking towards the door she pointed and said, "Seems Dan is lookin for ya."
Elizabeth turned and saw another man at a near by table just starring at her but she waved it off.
"You're all loaded up!" Dan said with a grin.
"Thank you Dan. I will be right there." She turned back to Miss Sally as they stood. "Well, I guess I will be seeing ya."
Miss Sally took her in her arms. "Don't be a stranger now. Do you hear me?"
Elizabeth pulled her to arms link. "I promise I will try to be in more often."
Miss Sally pulled her into her again said, "You better or I will come find ya."
They pulled away with both having a huge smile on their faces as then Elizabeth turned and left with Max close on her heels. She went back to the store and still had the feeling she was being watched but shook it off again as she saw Dan standing by her pick up. She handed him his money as they then exchanged hugs, then she pulled away and opened the door. Max jumped in as she followed and headed out, back to her cabin a good 12 miles from the town.

Matt took the last drag of his cigarette as he watched Dan giving Elizabeth her groceries at her car. He was shielded by the shadow created by the drug store so he could pretty much stare at them and go unnoticed. Matt was nineteen and in great shape. He wore faded denims that were ripped at the knees and a red flannel shirt. He dropped the stub and crushed it under his heel. Elizabeth hadn't been seen in town for quite a while, she was still the looker. The sticky summer heat had her dressing like she was parading herself infront of guys like him. He would bet a week's wages that the chick got lonely living up where she did, bet she would just love a young guy like him to f**k her. He scoffed at the thought and a smirk creased his boyish face. He watched as she drove away, creating a small cloud of dust in the dried earth as Dan returned towards the store.
Dan spied him and waved his arm. "Goddammit Matt! What do I pay you and your brother for? Get that delivery out to Mrs Pierson already." Matt nodded. "You got it Mr D." He said and turned to his brother who sat on a small packing crate and played with his hunting knife. "C'mon George, Let's go." He said and gave him a quick kick. George looked up and grinned like a goof. "Okay Matty." He said in his hollow droning voice. "Don't call me that." Matt shot back angrily. His brother had the mental capacity of a child and so he had always looked out for him, but sometimes the pressure of being his guardian got to him. They got into the jeep and Matt started the engine. Matt remembered his father's shame at losing that poker game to that old wh0re Miss Sally and losing Elizabeth in the bet. He had been the laughing stock of the whole town.
Matt grinned evilly to himself, perhaps they would pay a visit to Elizabeth when they were done with their deliveries...

...Somewhere out in the wilderness, Garrett growled in frustration and stared down at the wreck of an engine in his car. He had broken down on a track deep in the woods and was getting increasingly aware of the time of day. This hills weren't known for their friendly inhabitants. Garrett was a tall and well built man in his thirties, he had short dark hair and three days worth of stubble on his chin. Despite his rugged appearance he had twinkling blue eyes and a charming smile. He had served in the military for a few years and had hoped to find travelling from Final Fantasy City to a small backwater town would be an easy thing to do. "F**k me." Garrett said in a thick American accent and kicked one of the front tyres in frustration. THe midday heat was intense and he had sweat patches stainging his blue shirt beneath his arms and down his back. Just as he was considering his options, he heard a car coming.
Breathing a huge sigh of relief he stood to the side of the narrow road an gave a thumbs up. He prayed against all hope whoever was behind the wheel was full of small town generosity. He saw the car appear from around a bend with a woman and a dog inside. "Comon lady... give a guy a break huh?" Garrett muttered quietly to himself...

Elizabeth was singing to a song on hear radio and gave Max a pat on the head as she came around a bend and saw a man standing on the side of the road. She gave a low sigh and slowed down to a stop. As he walked up to her passnager seat Max let out a low growl but Elizabeth hushed him with a quick point. As she then looked up she brushed her long brunett hair out from her hazel eyes. She was 20 years old standing at 5'3 with a nice figure and rack.
"I see you're car has a flat and by your fustartion you don't have a spare," She paused a moment and then said, "Hop in. I will take you to my place and you can stay the night. Then we will figure out what to do tomorrow." She moved Max into her as to let the man get in. When he was she headed for her cabin.
The sun was about an hour away of setting when she got to her cabin. Her dogs appeared out of no where the momnent she parked. She let Max jump out behind her as she snapped twice and the dogs went into play mode. Then she walked around to the back of her truck and lowered her tale gate. Looking over at the man she said, "If you wish you can just go inside and sit on the couch." Their was 6 big bags of dog food. She threw one on her shoulder an began to walk it over to her barn. Walking over to a machine she had made for her dogs she opened she bag and climbed a step stool. Openingthe lid she began to poor the food inside the machine as it was time for them to recive more food she had a total of seven dogs that remained in the barn and Max stayed with her in the house. The machine gave each dog the same amount of food as they heard they machine they came running to their food to eat dinner. All 6 bags could fit in the machine so she would need to get the other 5 and it woud make them last a little over a month.

Garrett thanked Elizabeth and tried not to check her out too obviously. Spending the night at a cabin in the middle of nowhere with a gorgeous stranger wasn't the worst thing to happen in the world. He promised himself he would try and behave.
He watched her shoulder a huge bag of dog food and walk it into the barn. Without being asked he picked up another bag of dog food and thrust it onto his shoulder then struggled for a moment to put a second bag on his other shoulder. "You guys like to eat huh?" Garrett grunted at the dogs who wandered about, watching him. Garrett strode into the barn and approached her. "Where you want-?" He saw the machine and as carefully as he could he put the bags down beside it. "Cool, you invented this thing or something? I'll get the others." He left Elizabeth to fill the machine while he carried the other bags through in three journeys. THe final bag he carried back alone and handed it up to her while she was still on a ladder. He wiped perspiration from his forehead with the back of his hand and leaned against a wooden pillar as he watched her empty the bag. His eyes dropped to the fine curve of her backside as she bent over slightly to fill the machine...
"So uh... my name's Garrett by the way. Thanks for letting me stay, I promise I'll be outta your hair first thing in the morning. You live here alone?"

She did not speak to him until the machine was full of dog food. As she closed the lid and got down off the ladder she began to pick up the empty bags and looked at him. "Thanks for helpin. My name is Elizabeth and yes I live alone. Well, I have 8 huskeys whom with one snap of my finger could, as a pack of course, could kill ya if I wished but they are at stand down so no worries on that." She smiled at him as she walked past as she walked over to her trash cans and place the bags inside. Then she turned back to him. "Oh, and you won't be in my way. I have plenty of room here as ya can see."
The cabin was a two story in hoping one day to have a family and kids. A few of Miss Sallys friends helped her build it but Elizabeth did the main part of the work. "So, come on and I'll fix us somethin to eat." She let out a whisly as Max come running to her side. She let him walk in before her as she took of her shoes at the door she asked him to do they same. "Why dont you follow me into the kitchen and you can help me cook. If you don't know how its ok I will show ya."
She walked over to her cabinets and took out a skillet and pulled out some oil and poored it into the pan. She then took out a cutting board and some carrets, onions, fresh green beans and some peppers and sat them beside the cutting board. "Come and cut these up for me, will ya?" She was letting the oil heat up as she took out a pack of already cut beef tip pieces. "I hope you like ster fry." She took out another pot and felled it with water. Then she placed it back on the back burner and took out a bag of rice awaiting for that to heat up as well.
She then got out some cooked meat and gravey and placed it in a melt bowel and put it the the corner for Max. Looking down at him as he waved his tail happily she walked back over and stood watching him cut. "So, how'd ya get out here in the middle of no where and without a spare tire. Seems you ain't from around these parts. Where you come from?"

"I've been around." Garrett answered her. He grinned as he watched the dog tuck into the meat and gravy, then continued chopping the vegtables. "I guess I was a city kid growing up but enlisted in the army as soon as I was old enough. After I decided to leave Special Forces I thought it would be cool to do some travelling. Ended up here after leaving Final Fantasy City." As Garrett moved on to chopping the onions he felt his eyes sting and water from their aroma, he laughed and used his wrists to wipe his eyes, he spared Elizabeth a glance. "It wasn't just the tyre that was gone, the engine was f**ked as well. It's what I get for going round in a piece of sh1t motor, excuse my language."
Finished with the vegtables he let Elizabeth cut in as she added everything to the frying pan with a great sizzle. He felt his stomache rumble at the thought of food. "That smells real good." He said, standing close to her left and watching over her shoulder as she cooked.

Alide gave Freefall a soft kick nd he lunged thre the brush popping out on the road, "Damn sawbriers." He dusted at her jeans and sighed, she dropped the reins to freefalls hackmore and stretched her arms, "okay baby takes us right and lets see where the road leads." The massive stallion bobbed his hand and trotted up the left side of the road, his bouncing steps making his cloud like mane and tail bounce and flick in the cool wind.
Alide cut off a small piece of jerky tearing in to it with her small teeth, chewing rapidly she needed to find a town soon for more supplys. She whisled a soft tune over and over, it had the same notes everytime but at a differat pitch each repition. Soo Freefall had timed his steps to the song, which sounded something like the video game Wild Arms.
Alide loked u and around finding herself in a small town, "Yes! this is just what we are looking for love." The horse gave a small nicker. Alide sat back a little and loosened her muscles infron of the smal store giving Freefall the signal to stop, the massive stud froze on the spot. Alide slide down off his naked back, and tied his reins up tossing them over his shoulders and out of his way, knowing that he was safe and the saddle bags, even if someone envied him. She lead him over to a barrel of water at the side of the store testing it herself to make sure it was safe for Freefal to drink.
Alide walked in the store and looked around spotting the store keeper, she walked over to him, "Hi, um do you have any alfalfa hay? and I need: Jerky, canned meat, dried fruits, cut and heal onitment, boots, sugar cubes, first aid kit, canned cream, flour, beans, sugar, molasses, bread, lighters, a XL insulated horse blanket, and a good sturdy leather jacket maybe. And is there a farrier in town?" Alide hoped she had not missed anything in her list. she looked around, "And if you have it something to drink."

Matt and George returned to town in their truck. Their ealier enthusiasm to pay Elizabeth a visit dampened by the time and "she's got all those godamn mutts." Matt had reasoned. As usual they had dropped off Ms Pierson's delivery, the kindly old lady had thanked them and given George a bag of boiled sweets like he was a child. Matt just hated her, pretty much like he hated everyone and everything about this town.
Matt left George to unload the packing crates, his large autistic brother started humming a song to himself as he worked. Matt went into the store pulling his baseball cap down on his head as he pushed his way inside and found a woman waiting at the counter. "Hey Dan, you got a customer!" Matt called into the back and looked her over. He had definately not seen her before. He went round the back as Dan took the woman's order and helped himself to some of Dan's legendary jerky.
When Dan disapeared to check if they had everything in stock Matt wandered back around the counter and watched the girl as he leaned against the wall with his arms folded and chewing on his jerky. "I heard you were lookin' for a farrier? The stables just outta the west side of town will have what you need." At that moment, George entered carrying the packing crates and smiled broadly at the new comer. "Hello! You aren't from around here." Matt rolled his eyes. "Well ofcourse she ain't dumb sh1t. Get that stuff in the back." George vanished into the back rooms.
"You gonna want this stuff delivered lady?" Matt asked...

Alide turned trotted out, gabbing her saddle bags off Freefall, giving him a good pat down before cameing back in the store, "No, I will take it right here, me and Free have a long way to go." She looked out the window at her delicatly beheamath horse. His ears perked and his neck arched, his mane and tail like waving flags of white glory, his black dimand looking al the blacker aginst his blue eyes, then turned back to the counter, her large breasts swaying softly.
Alide began tucking items in her saddle bags, she tucked her hair behind hear ear and her tongue shot out and curled at her upper lip as she packed her things, once finished she loked at the cashier, 'How much do I own you?" She pullled her wallet out of her back poket which was tight on her lush rouned bottom. She eyed the boots and jacket then checked over the insilated blanket for Freefall.
Freefall watched his rider threw the window of the store his alert stance never droppng or shifting, he could smell an earily winter coming on he shivered and hoped she was getting him a new blanket.

The creaking ceiling fan was doing little to nothing to combat the stifling air in the drug store. Matt took off his cap for a moment to wipe the sweat from his forehead with the back of his arm. He helped himself to a can of soda from the display fridge. Ignoring Dan's disaproving scowl he popped the ring pull and took a deep swig. Continuing to lean against the wall with a smug look on his boyish features he just watched as the woman inspected her gear. She asked Dan how much she owed him and then paid the price Dan quoted. There was a sudden crash from the back room followed by the sound of George cursing loudly. Dan turned to Matt but it didn't look like the younger man felt like moving. "When you've finished doing nothing, Matt, perhaps you could help this nice lady with her purchases?"
"Yeah, yeah." Matt sighed unenthusiastically and put his can down to saunter over to the woman. "You want this stuff taking to your horse out there?" He inclined his head towards the window, where he could see her mount. A few jokes of a woman on her own with a well-hung stallion sprang to mind but he didn't mention any of these. As he bent to pick up her goods his head became level with her chest for a moment and he couldn't help but pause briefly and check out her impressive cleavage. He whistled a low tune to distract himself as he lifted her filled saddlebags.
Suddenly a bit more cheerful he propped the door open with his foot and let her pass through first. His eyes flashed down briefly towards her shapely rear before following her over to her horse. "Y'know, uh... you need anything else you be sure to give me a hollar, okay?" He said, grinning widely as he handed her saddlebags over. "I'm Matt by the way."

Elizabeth smiled as she felt him leaning over her shoulder. "Well, I thank ya for you kind words of how good my food smells. I learned how to cook from a woman in the town a few miles from here. She now owns the saloon there. Well, she had for awhile but it is well known. Her husband used to own it but she had always ran it. He was more an inventor type. I'd go with him and watch and help with his stuff. He was a mad man in a good way and yes to your question before. There are a lot of things I invented around here. Stuff for my dogs and there are traps everywhere so if you do think about leavin tomorrow you best not til I am awake, ok? If you step off this porch, well I reck'in ya'll should just wait til I am up."
When the food was done she put the rice on two different plate and placed the ster fry on top. She handed him his plate and hers and told him to go sit. She grabbed two forks and took cokes from the fridge and walked over to the table. Sitting down beside him she told him to bow his head and close his eyes. She said a little prayer and then they dug in. "So is it as good a taste as it smells?" She asked taking a bite herself. She looked over him for the first time sense she had him in her full view. 'Wow he is handsome' she thought to herself. A man's man. She nodded to herself in agreement that she did like what she saw.
As they ain't she then said, "Well, lets see here. I'm uh thinkin that maybe you could take the bedroom close to mine. Its not to girly in there for ya." She chuckled then took a swig of her drink then began to eat once more. "Yeah, that'll be good for ya I think. So, Garrett where you headed after this if you dont mind me askin."

Garrett put a heaped fork of the food into his mouth and nodded vigarously as he chewed. "Oh yeah, It's great." He admitted honestly. He grinned at her with a twinkle in his eyes. "Best Stir-fry I ever had." He tucked back into his food and could feel Elizabeth watching him as he ate. He let her carry out her silent inspection without giving away that he'd noticed.
Elizabeth mentioned the room next to hers and reached for her drink. He picked up his own can of coke and took a gulp as he leaned back comfortably in the chair. "I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm really grateful Elizabeth." He thought about sleeping in a bed in the room next to this attractive young woman and suddenly felt a bit hot under the collar... and it wasn't just the blazing heat of the weather.
When she asked about where he was planning to go next he shrugged as he started on his food again. "I can never quite tell." He said, smiling helplessly. "I'll go into town and buy some tools to fix my ride, maybe... then who knows?" He looked at Elizabeth and they shared eye contact briefly. He watched her as she went back to eating for a moment. She was the kind of woman that made a man want to settle down. She was beautiful, a great cook and had a very homely quality about her.
"Look uh... Is there anything I can do to thank you for all this?" Garrett asked. "I mean if you need anything doing I'm good with my fingers-" He cut himself off with a short laugh. "Okay that came out wrong. I meant hands. You need anything doing around this place?"

Elizabeth almost chuckled at the sight of his emrassment of his words. She did however smile big at him. "Well, if ya want to stick around a little while I could use a little help around here. Tomorrow we can take my truck and pull your car to my barn, that way you have a over head to fix it up in." She took another bite of food as she was almost done. "I can also help you fix that up too." She then saw the surprise look on his face out of the corner of her eye. "Yes, I have many talents. Being adopted by two of this towns handyist people from anywhere from cooking, cleaning, and sewing to fixing, creataing, and well you just pick it up as you go. I am handy with any kind of gun, knife, and just about anything I can find around me."
She took her last bite of food and last swig of drink and sat back in her chair. "But, dont get me wrong. Even someone like me needs help from time to time on workin. If you don't mind it of course. Just know this if you do wish to work not for me but with me I will work you so hard to the point your bones ache." Her face at that moment went red. It was hard to embrass her but when it happened it made her off balance until she could find her step again. "Oh, my. That came out wrong to, didnt it? Good lord. I feel silly." She paused looking away from him. "Well, uh, what do you think?"

Alide smiled, "Um...sure but dont get to close Freefall don't take to men to well." She walked out then turned to Matt as Freefalls ears lad back and he bared his teeth at the guy. SHe took her saddle bags and tossed them up on Freefalls back. She turned and smiled sticking out her gloved hand for a shake, "Names Alide. and no I think I got everything, except that alfalfa." She trotted over and grabbed the small bale and dropped it in front of Freefall, the stud downed his head adn ate vigoriously, Alide snapped at him and he slowed 'Damn it Free dont eat to much you will make your self sick!" The stud just rooled his eyes.
Alide looked back at Matt, "well you could tell me where I can get a ot meal and maybe a desent bath." She looked down at her worn clothing and dirty hands. She flt a little grudgy and she eyed Freefall, "And do me a favor, I give you $20 if you ave him a saop bucket and a hose laid out for me to bath him when I am done."

Garrett chuckled at Elizabeth's comment, he had caught the innuendo as soon as she'd said the words. "I might just take you up on that offer." He said and laughed again. "The one to work with you ofcourse." He could see Elizabeth was embarassed and also that they had finished dinner so he got up and started collecting the plates. "I can start right now and do the dishes. Thanks again, that was great." In a pile he carried the plates and cutlery towards the kitchen. Unable to help himself he paused in the doorway and winked back at her, "Though uh... feel free to work me to my bones, I think you'll find my stamina will impress you." He laughed to himself as he let the door close and headed over to the sink. He started to fill it with hot water and put the pots in. He let out a long contented sigh and looked out the window for a moment as he waited for the sink to fill. Feeling a bit sticky in the clothes he had been wearing all day, he turned his head and called through to the dining room. "Hey uh... you mind if I use your shower later?" He had brought clean clothes with him in a rucksack but the idea of having a nice hot shower was very appealing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matt pointed across the street to Miss Sally's Sallon. He didn't relish sending the old harlot some custom but there wasn't really anywhere else. "You can get a meal and a bath in there." Just ask if you want me to scrub your back, Matt thought but didn't say anything. When she asked about the bucket and hose Matt shrugged. "$20 for just an old bucket and a hose? Sh1111t, it's your money lady." He turned to his left and spat in the street as Alide went off towards the saloon. He stood there and watched her until she entered the building. The girl was definately fine. She looked fiesty though, like a wild horse that needed taming. Perhaps he was just the guy to do it. Though it was still Elizabeth he really wanted to teach a lesson.
Matt saw his brother George ambling towards him playing with a rubber band on his left wrist. "We done fer today? Can we go home?" George asked. "Lady wants a bucket of soap and a hose to clean her horse." Matt said. "Go get it sorted out and I'll pay you half what she's payin' me." George nodded vigarously. "You got it Matty!" He turned and started off towards the drug store. Suddenly he paused and turned back. "How much is she payin' us?" "Oh just ten dollars." Matt lied to him. "If I'm giving you half that means you get four dollars okay?" George beamed happily. "Easy money! Thanks Matty!" Matt scoffed to himself and shook his head. "Dumbsh1t." He muttered to himself and decided if George called him 'Matty' one more time he would punch him. Despite his ill treatment towards his younger brother, he did look out for him and keep him from trouble.
A short while later, George had sorted out the bucket and hose and it was left beside Alide's stallion. Matt sent George away and sat on the stone rim of a nearby well rolling up a cigarette. He smoked on the joint as he watched over the horse and waited for the girl to return and pay him...
