OK here is how it works, My character is a captured maddog who has no memories of who he is, the arena is used much like the ones from roman times, you can be another arena creature or a master who owns the creatures, or you can be a bystander who some how winds up as a master or gladiator. LOL! it is set in modern day time but is portrayed as a historic thing, the only ways out of the arena is by death winning your freedom or escaping there is one champion for each master who usually owns 8-10 gladiators. the Champions are usually used for breeding and battling as well as training the new recruits. once a champion falls the master must appoint a new one among his gladiators and then it must battle for champion of the arena.

The unutterable dark of dreamless sleep changed tone, becoming a blackness somehow differentiated in that there were the first faint flickers of awareness returning. The world was a swimming, floating blank, but little sensations sneaked back into that world. His head felt muzzy, which meant he had a head. His mouth tasted funny, which meant he had a mouth. His ears buzzed, which meant he had ears. He was a he, which meant he had other things. He had a name, he recalled.
He smelled humans and other unspeakable creautres, the new life and decay of the arena. There seemed every reason to fear. He wasn't dead. His father had been a werewolf, and his mother a wolf shifter. Right now he was, though a bit of an aching one, a very massive MadDog. His eyes opened blearily as he began to stretch and yawn, but startled when he realized those aches were due to things binding him immobile.
It was then he panicked, because bindings were for prisoners, and he had never been one of those. There had been the freedom of the packs and the snowy forests around it
He let out a frustrated, rather piteous snarl.
Half-blind, deaf but for the buzzing in his ears, he still managed to have an idea. A brilliant idea! In a snap of bones, the MadDog disappeared, replaced by a human, somewhere in the awkward phases between Maddog and man. The ropes draped over him more like decoration now as he grinned triumphantly and wobbled to his feet. Blinking, he got dizzy, and the buzz in his ears became a roar and... oh no, one of those horrid human creatures was heading his direction!

Kurros stirred in the darkness, a strange 'clinking' accompanying his movements. Slowly he opened his eyes. Dark shadows greeted him, blurry and indistinguishable. A throbbing headache caused him to wince and draw back. Where was he?
He pulled his front leg beneath him and pushed slowly up, his muscles sore and creaking. What happened?
Shaking his head, clearing his vision, his memory slowly returned. He'd been attacked... Taken from the forest by an unknown assailant. He didn't even have time to react. The next thing he knew, he was here. A deafening roar thundered in his chamber, the voices of many creatures. Scents filled his nostrils; the overpowering scent of blood and death shocked him.
He stood up completely, taking a step forward. He was met with resistance by thick iron chains wrapped around his legs. He pulled harder, but to no avail. Whatever this situation was that he was in, he did not like it. A thundering roar bellowed out of this toothy jaws, followed by a displeased and irritated snarl. He froze as the sound of footsteps closed in on his chamber.

As MadDog steadied himself, four men moved up to the front of his cage, he let out a deep blood curdling snarl.
The fat man in pompous robes nodded, "He is a fine specimen, I congratulate you on your capture Captain Negregery."
The tall man at the back of the group with that scar that run down the length of his neck and on to his shoulder disappearing under his shirt nodded slightly, "Thank you Master Morynon."
One of the keepers stepped forward, “So are we going to try out your new prize now or give him a few days rest?"
Morynon eyed his new Gladiator and shook his head, "let him rest this night, that was he is fresh in the morning, feed him water him and for hells sake get some chains on him. I do not want him escaping.”
MadDog opened him mouth, “Where the hell am I!? What is it I am in this cage for?” He grabbed that bars and shook them hard but they didn’t budge and inch.
Negergery grinned, “Son you are a gladiator now and will do as your told, you are a slave nothing more and will fight and win as you are told, or die, because the creature in the ring with you will not show you any mercy. ” Neg looked the massive man in the cell over, he was built like a pro wrestler, and must have been in his early to middle twenties, his blue/black hair and yellow eyes gave him a handsome cut to him, which was sure to catch the eye of the breeders. He raised the tranquilizer gun and pulled the trigger.
MadDog gave a yelp but didn’t move fast enough to avoid the dart, he reached down and pulled it from his stomach, “You ba*tered!” His eyes got fuzzy as he kneeled down spotting something red and white and black in the cell next to his, hearing the defining roar as she drifted out of consciousness.

His pupils slitted as the creatures came into view. They were strange, two legged beasts, scrawny and seemingly defenseless. He'd heard stories of these creatures from when he still resided with his kind. Kurros lowered his head, taking on an aggressive stance when six of these creatures stood at the bars of his chamber.
"Wow." Spoke one, stunned by Kurros's fighting appearance. Even though he did not understand their words, he listened intently, observing their body language, searching for any signs of understanding.
"A dragon...How did you manage to capture it?!" Asked another to the largest one. "Snuck up on 'im. I got him pinned in a little trap." His mouth contorted into a cruel smile, his teeth baring.
"It's gonna be a good fighter... Wait-why doesn't it have a fire-guard on its mouth?" questioned one.
"That, with his wings, is a drawback. It doesn't breath fire. But-" he cut off, noticing their hesitation, "I believe it's a great fighter. I mean, look at the size of this thing!" He gestured at Kurros and he responded with a savage growl.
The men looked at him, judging. "Worth a shot. When do you want to pit him?"
"As soon as we can. I want to see what this beast can do!" He exclaimed. "Give him that pig the butcher just killed. He needs something."
The men gazed at him one last time, then left, speaking among themselves. Kurros shuddered. What was going to happen to him? Why had these creatures taken him, and what were they saying? He closed his eyes and clicked his throat softly. He'd get out, somehow. He escaped his kind, how hard would it be to escape from these small creatures?
Not long after they left, a hole opened in the roof of his chamber, and a dead fleshy creature fell in. The hole promptly closed. Kurros stared at it for a moment, then moved closer. It was food. Why were they feeding him? Kurros's stomach growled. Hesitantly, He bit into the pig.

MagDog awoke with chains attached to all his paws and a heavy one around his throat, his tail ridged as he stepped stiffly over to the butchered calf sniffing it to make sure it was free of toxins, then he lowered his head and began shredding it swallowing chunks whole, as he finished the meager meal he looked around for signs of how long he had been under and noticed the moon was up, which meant more than five hours. He grumbled and decided to test the strength of his little portable cell. He gave a mighty snarl and threw himself against the bars digging his claws into the foot thick steel sides and floor, throwing him weight around and making the worst raucous imaginable causing his cell to rock and sway and bum into other cells close to him, as he raged he noted that the creature he had saw before he when under was a dragon, he gave an exhausted heave and flopped down in to the bottom of his cage, despair burning anew in his heart, making his anger grow. He sat up and tilted his head back letting out his sorrowful cry into the night, it was low and pure pitched pleasing to the ears of all who could hear, it was the song in his soul, which smoothed into one of vengeance. He curled up as best he could in the corner of his cell to where he could see everything that surrounded him including the dragon next door.

All that remained of the pig once he was finished were a few bits of bone and gore. Kurros sat heavily on his haunches, heaving a sigh. A pleasant glow cast in through the bars; the moon was bright tonight. He missed the solitude of his forest.
His reminiscing was interrupted by a horrid racket coming from the cage next to him. He jumped a little at the onset of it, staring wildly into the neighboring cage. It was a large creature, bound in chains as he was. Not a dragon, but perhaps an ally?
Kurros sat there for a few moments until the racket stopped. then he walked towards it He placed his head next to the bars, peeing in sideways. He clicked, seeing the creature an listened to it's meaningful howl. Kurros's clicks continued and soft squeaks accompanied his howl. As the creature walked to the corner and curled up, Kurros raised his head a little.

MadDog spotted the dragon eyeballing him and stood to his feet walking over to where the creature was at, He sniffled at him knowig the Dragon only saw him as a monster sized wolf with blood red eyes. He sat but the Dragons head, and grumbled a hello, hoping it could understand him, "Hello, do you have any idea where we are?" he spoke in grunts, growls and whines. if he had to he would use his telepathy to speak with the dragon.

Kurros didn't move as the creature approached him. he could read no aggression toward him through his posture. His clicks got a little more rapid to an almost purr; he was trying to give off a "friendly" impression. If this creature was intelligent as he, then it probably wanted out as well and could serve useful as an ally.
He listened to the wolf's noises, but didn't understand. Kurros knew he was trying to speak to him, which was a relief. He sat down upon his haunches, trying to figure out how to communicate with the creature. He'd only ever spoken to those of his own kind, and he didn't even know what this creature was.
The irons began to itch, digging under his scales with every movement. He lowered his head and began to chew at them, scraping his teeth against the metal only to leave nothing but small marks. He hissed in irritation, then looked back at the wolf, waiting to see if he had a plan.

It was soon evident to MadDog that this dragon could not understand him language, thou he seemed friendly enough. MadDog gently slipped into the dragons mind,
I said, Hello and do you know where we are? I am MadDog, but that is not my name….i admit I do not remember my name or anything else for that matter. How did they capture you?
MadDog knew the Dragon would be surprised, he looked down at his bonds and sighed, shrinking his size to that of a normal wolf shaking off the chains,
Disgusting things! Here give me your paw.
MadDog shifted to his human form,
Please do not be frightened of me I am not like the two legged creatures I am only part, but I shall remove your chains, they are held by mere clasps.
MadDog stuck his hands out threw the bars for the dragon’s paw.

Hearing the wolf's voice in his mind startled him. He wretched back, tensing up and spreading his tattered wings. "In my mind?" the thought back, a low grumble sounding deep in his throat. He wasn't sure if he liked that... But, he realized, it was communication. And he seemed friendly.
"They call me Kurros. And no, I don't. I was in the forest last I knew, then here. How do you not know your name? Is it not what makes you?" His traditions surfacing. "Although, I do admit, I'm not known by that name any longer..." He trailed off.
His eyes widened as MadDog shifted forms, first becoming smaller then changing into one of those... things. He hissed slightly, but surprising to him, trusted his word. "What are you? Before the forest, I knew nothing but my kin and the prey we ate. How many... creatures are out there?" It was strange to be able to hold a conversation such as this, he had gotten so used to unintelligent insults and rabble.
He lifted his leg against the side of the cage, drawing in his massive talons. If he could get the irons off, he just knew he could find a way out. Perhaps that hole? If only he could fly...

MadDog, looked at the floor, and sighed,
Well Kurro, if I may call you that.. it seems My memories are lost to me, they must have hit me pretty hard when they captured me and caused my memory loss, I hate this! And no it is our abilities and morals that define my peoples, my father a werewolf, is defined by power and bloodlust, and my mother a wolf-shifter, is defined by cunning and speed, why are you not know by your name anymore? I am a breed unto my on, I have two brother and a sister, all born to the same parents, in the same litter, we are called MadDogs and are hated by our mothers people and tolerated by our fathers thou never accepted, we were ran out of the pack, when we were very young. There are many breeds of creatures out in this world; if we live past this and get free I will show you.
MadDog grabbed the link around Kurro’s leg and pressed his thumb to a small pad then pulled up a pin and shove the small dot in while shifting the ring in a circle, the band fell to the floor leaving Kurro’s leg freed.

Kurros took in what MadDog explained to him, Trying to imagine a whole world full of these creatures. Oh. He thought simply, then added To my kin I'm known as the Tainted One. A wretched title... He shook his head, When I was young, I was tormented by my siblings because I was the last-hatched. My kin also shunned me because of my white markings and my way of speak. I can hold a conversation quite better than they can, but in my culture, intelligence is not what makes you strong.So when they discovered I could not breath fire, they believed me to be an omen... Tainted by the darkness. So they shredded my wings, gave me these scars, and I escaped.
Once MadDog released the chain, he licked his raw skin. Thanks. He looked at MadDog as he licked his tender leg, then lifted his head back up to gaze around the cage. There was a hole... They dropped my food in... He looked up to the spot, his pupils slitting.

MadDog listened to his sad story and shook his head, it matched his own I some ways.
The hole is too small to escape from, even in my human form I doubt you will make it through.
MadDog sighed and watched the dragon work around his cell, then eyed a figure moving towards them he shifted and snarled loudly, it was humans headed their way.
Kurro their coming!

Kurros heaved a heavy sigh, but knew MadDog was right. It was just a hope. Startled by his sudden snarl, Kurros looked wildly to the front of the cage, where the humans came. Kurros hissed loudly, signaling his displeasure for the men.
He charged up, hulking is shoulders forward, giving him a larger, more intimidating presence. The scales on his back clicked together, giving off a rattlesnake sound. But, intimidation could only go so far when you're the one inside the cage. The men seemed not scared by him, but pleased. Kurros lowered his head and stepped backwards to the farthest wall away from them. If they opened that gate like he hoped they would, there'd be nothing they could do to stop him. Or at least he planned.
