Ardolf stood on his porch looking up at the night sky. It was a dark black with stars shinning like dimonds all throw out it. The moon was almost full. Three days away. Although he was a werewolf he could change at will and control his wolf sometimes on the night of the full moon it still made him a little edgy. He wanted to be alone on those nights. It made it earier to control his beast.
Looking down at his cup in his hand it was full of black coffee. He took a sip and he closed his eyes as he let it run down his throat. Then reopening them he looked up at the moon again. He let out a low sigh. Something felt off tonight. He wasnt for sure what it was but something felt like it was coming toward his cabin. Maybe he should hide and surprise whatever it was or just wait it out and sit in the porch swing. He decided to go with his second choice and walked over and say in this porch swing. Taking another sip of his coffee he waited for the creature to show itself. It had been awhile sense he had company so he was a little excited about it. He could hardly wait.

The unnerving silence and sounds of the wild sent Skylark on a frenzy but it also more or less scared the bejeezus out of her. She had told herself that in order to become that educated scholar she wanted to be, she would need to open her eyes to new encounters and open her heart to new adventures and thrills- although her heart could be doing better without so many close encounters and thrills. She walked in a relative cautious motion, making sure to look below her and not step on twigs like many unfortunate souls do in the frightening movies, as well as making sure there wasn't some strange shadow behind her to suck her blood out or to kidnap her of her youth and money.
Dear lord, the sounds of wolf howling and owls hooting could never sound so beautilful and downright creepy at the same time. Her right hand shook lightly but she fiercely carried on with her quest to become educated and find herself in this world. Elliot, her tiny tiger was carried between her chest and her dress, as means to calm her down from the eerie night's frights and also because he happened to serve as a nice warm cushion. The dimly lit Rod di Chandra helped her navigate through the mob of trees until she saw in the distance a cabin. Maybe not a cabin, but it looked something like a home or a cozy living place... a porch included! Maybe aside from the fact that Skylark was running low on water from tripping over and spilling what water she had brought for the journey, she was actually looking forward to making contact with the outside world and finding out where in the heck she was... it was bad enough she was lost and never asked her father where they lived.
She approached the porch, her right hand holding the rod as close to her as possible when the smell of black coffee overwhelmed her. Ah... the smell of a hot fulfilling drink. Just smell that air... it made her stomach grumble as to say the recent meal of bread and water wasn't what it asked for but she couldn't just camp in a rain forest because if it rained, the fire would be put out and she might be ambushed. Coming closer, she saw... a man? Maybe. It looked like it... in the middle of a rain forest? It was good enough for her to approach enthusiastically. "Hi! Um, may I come closer or is this private property?" she asked, coming closer nonetheless although careful not to seem as though she was just making the place hers. She had come across this problem once with a vampire perhaps? She intruded his home although all she did was knock on the door for some water... she was careful of her own actions ever since that day. She was lucky enough to flee because judging from appearance that vampire was mighty pale and skinny... but surely a vampire doesn't drink black coffee which caused Skylark to assume this person was perhaps someone of trust.

(OOC: You write so well. I like it. Can't wait to see where this goes.) Ardolf could smell her even before she came into view. A human? No. She smelled a little more then just that but for now a human never the less. He met the most intereseting people in these woods. It wasnt the first time he met a human girl either and sure wouldn't be the last. When she came into view he kept his face in the shadows but he smiled. She reminded him of her goddaughter. At that age those Amira was kicking butt. A warrior half breed but she would still be that sweet little girl to him. Always. When the girl asked to come up to his house, Ardolf stood, slowly. He didnt want to scare her. "By all means. I like having vistors and I swear I will do nothing to harm you child. Are you hungry? I have plenty of food in the house. Plus I was just about to make a fire in the fire place. Its going to get a little cold tonight." He walked over towards the door so she could get a little better view of him. "You may come inside and sit in the livingroom while I get the fire going. Then I will go over a list of food that I have and then we will go from there." He turned his back and walked inside letting her follow at her own pace. Walking over to a corner he grabbed some wood and walked it over to the fireplace and began to start it up. Ardolf (This is more his warrior self. He mostly wears blue jeans and long sleeve flannel shirts. Kind of like what lumber jacks wear with brown mountain boots) Ardolf in wolf form

[OOC: Aww thanks lol this is going good ^^]
Skylark's eyes tried their best to pierce through that darkness clouding her view of what appeared to be a man, her own eyes trying to find his eyes within the empty space between them. His voice spoke out to her, and for a moment there, from the corner of her eye she saw her Rod di Chandra give out small pulses of light. Her right hand shook the rod-- it must be on the fritz again. It usually gave out pulses of light whenever danger was around, then again the rod was rather old or as Skylark would say, ancient. It was never accurate, and this man seemed pretty normal, kind and brawny by the sound of his voice. Then, the man took a few steps forward to where she could further see him; she smiled, happy to know her assumption was correct, for he was indeed muscular and tough looking to boot, but a kind hearted man. A lumberjack... he had to be a human!
Skylark was thrilled and grinned from ear to ear. Not only was he friendly, but he had just offered her food and shelter... it was beyond what anyone had offered her before. "There's really nice people out there," she thought to herself, smiling as she followed him into his home, her eyes looking around because lets face it... it's been a long time since she's seen the inside of a home. She had always been camping outside, afraid to go to a hotel because of the fact she was still seventeen and her grandparents might looking for her to take her back or worse... kill her. It was funny how she still called them grandparents, but they had been good people to her the whole time. Or perhaps if she rented a hotel room, people may find her vulnerable and try to rob her of the money she was supposed to depend on for years to come if she was unable to find a job. Her hazel eyes watched the man put wood into the fire, curious to know if he was friendly because he didn't get many visitors. As far as she could see, the rainforest was very dangerous and she doubted people came around here as though it were a stroll in the park. Either way, she continued to smile, looking forward to that meal and the warmth of the fire, hoping to learn about him as well and to perhaps learn more of the land geography, the dangers and what to expect. It was a scholar's job to know this all, right? She then realized she had taken this man's generosity without introducing herself, how rude and embarrassing! "M-my name's Skylark, and I thank you for you generosity from the bottom of my heart," she spoke up, being sincere and thankful by the look of her beaming eyes.

Ardolf kept his eyes on what he was doing. Taking a lighter down from under the mantle he lite the the logs. The fire was low but he added some papers to them so the fire could grow. He then began to point at it with a poker as it began to burn normal. Putting the poker back on the stand be made sure the flu was open. As she spoke he listened then standing he turned and smiled at her. "Nice to meet you Ms. Skylark. My name is Ardolf. I have lived in these woods for some time and I must say I like it." If he was human he looked about in early 40s but he was much older then that. "Now, about something to eat. You may join me in the kitchen as I look through what I have."
He began to walk towards the door past his stairs and into the kitchen. He flipped on a light and walked over to his fridge. There was an island that had tall chairs on the far side and the side close to the fridge had the stove top. He offered to sit at the island so she could watch him better. Looking through the fridge he hand all the fixings for a cheeseburger. He smiled as he pulled out the fixings and the meat. Setting it on the counter by is stove top he leaned down and opened the cabnet underneath and took out a pan. Putting it on the burner he turned it on and put a patty in the pan. Opening a draw on his right he took out a spachula so he could flip the patty. He looked up at her studying her face as he spoke. "Do you like any kind of seasons stuff on your patty? I put garlic salt on mine."

Skylark continued to look around his home, noting everything, including the wall. It was just... a new experience to her. To have lived a normal life and then suddenly changing it radically to just living outside where the night's song soothed her to sleep; no walls, no windows... she had to admit she did miss having walls around her sometimes. It made her feel comfortable and secure. She also noted his appearance... a kind, brawny, middle aged person. Normally, a young person would be more livelier, more prone to asking questions which was why this man was quite the opposite. He seemed wise, calm and collected, something which Skylark saw as helpful in her situation-- he would be able to give her reliable information and according to his reply, he must know the area around his house well. His name was Ardolf, was it? Ardolf was quite a nice person, even inviting her into his kitchen? He must really enjoy company then! She got up, putting down her rod and her hand getting Elliot her stuffed animal out of the comfort of her neck and chest and setting it beside her rod, after which she followed him into the kitchen where the lights had already been turned on and sat on the high chair.
She began to think of her father at that instant, the father who was very bitter and reluctant to whatever her supposed mother wanted for her. This man, Ardolf, reminded her of a fatherly figure, or rather, what a fatherly figure should be. It was shame she couldn't quite exactly call her father a fatherly figure, but in the end he was in quite the dilemma so there was no way he could have been truly happy to make her happy. She watched Ardolf and saw he may be making burgers from what he pulled out of course. When asked of seasonings, she simple smiled. "Oh, I don't know very much about seasonings... but I'm sure garlic salt will be good," she answered. To be frank, Skylark wasn't much of a meat eater, she was very strict about her diet, until recently. Her grandparents and her mother had her on a strict no meat diet her entire life, which included fish. No meat, none whatsoever... but she was quite open minded about food and she tried fish recently. It was quite delicious, nothing she had ever tasted before... she wondered what a burger would taste like. She smiled to herself, happy and grateful for the meal to come; her hazel eyes continuing to watch him in hopes of learning his technique of cooking... perhaps later on she would learn how to cook a burger herself! That was Skylark, always looking forward to learning something new. "Mr. Ardolf, do you live by yourself? I mean... isn't the rainforest a bit spooky?" she asked, wondering if he was living by himself... perhaps he lived with a room mate or a family member that were away in the meantime. Or maybe he had neighbors? Or perhaps he was really strong and had no fear of the rainforest like she did... then again Skylark was always easily spooked by anything bigger or more ferocious than her and her small size didn't help at all.

Ardolf grinned at her. "Yes, my dear. I live here by myself. Its ok though. I like it." That was a total lie. He missed having company but he didnt let her see that on his face. If she wanted to feel safe then he would keep his face welcoming and warm. "I've been here for about 18 years now. So yeah." He put garlic salt on one side and then flipped it. "So, let me open the floor for you. I know you're really curious about me and this house here. If you want to ask anything then ask away. I have no secrets." Which he really didnt. Although, he wanted to ask her questions like what was she doing roaming around in this forest at night? Where her family was or was that what she was getting away from. In which case he would let her stay as long as she needed too. But, he wouldnt push it. Not until she wanted to actully wanted to talk about it. He flipped the patty over again as he wanted for her to talk. It was almost done cooking and he was happy she was eye balling it. The patty. She was going to like it.

Skylark smiled, happy to know she was nothing but a happy man living by himself. She would think one would get lonely... especially it its been eighteen years of living alone but if he was happy, then there was nothing that Skylark could do. she began to think of questions which didn't seem rude to ask. "Okay Um... Do you have nearby neighbors? And do you know how scary the rainforest is? I mean... I know a few obvious dangers but maybe since you lived here quite a while, you know what I should prepare myself for." she asked, trying not to put so many questions out there but noticing that she was asking quite a few questions and said nothing about herself. Once again, Skylark saw herself being somewhat rude, and so she added, "You see, I'm trying to learn about the world and everyone in it... I guess in a way I'm trying to find myself too,"
The smell of the burger overwhelmed her and she was starting to like this burger... it smelled really good. She anticipated the burger that was to coming her way soon and wondered how he was taking all this in. Surely, just as she, he must be filled with questions about herself which she would gladly respond to although there were some things she would rather them to never resurface again... but what good was this journey if all she was going to do was bury that past? She understood that if he wanted to know about that past of hers, it was better to just say it as it was, perhaps doing so she would believe herself what she's been through-- minus the part about being really half werewolf. She was assuming that he would get scared and throw her outside although really she was harmless, she was all human and she didn't receive anything related to being a werewolf... just a normal little teenage girl who happened to be short.

Ardolf flipped the patty again. The blood oozing out of it was starting to make him hungry too. "There are no other people that live near me no. This part of the forest is the somewhat quiet part but it still has its dangers." The burger was done. He smiled as he stole a glance at her as he began to put the fitting on it. Musterd, ketups, tomato, lettuce, and pickles. He wasn't much for raw onion so he left that off. Picking up the plant he put it on the table top in front of her. Then he went over to a cabent and got out a cup and went back over to the fridge. Opening up he took the cap off the milk carten and poored the milk into the cup. Place the milk back into the fridge and putting the cap back on he turned and sat the cup next to her plant.
"Hope it tastes good," He said with a grin and then decided to make him one sense the smell was overwhemling to him now. So putting another patty in the pan he put garlic salt on it and began to cook his too.
"Now," he said looking up at her, "Have you ran into any kind of dangers before? If so you know what vampires and werewolves are, right? Those are just two things that live here but I must say this. Not all of them are bad creatures. Some are just misunderstood. Others like to help because that's just who they are." He didnt know if she would take that as a hint but maybe she could be slowly putting two and two together. "I've seen more then just those two creatures though. I've seen demons roaming around. Some that stand as I do, a man but others are big and run on four legs." He tilted his head to the side. "How are you in combat?" He asked flipping his patty and awaiting her answer.

Skylark listened intently, watching as he set the plate down, followed by a cup of a milk! Skylark smiled from ear to ear, thinking to herself how it has been since she had drank milk. "Thank you Mr. Ardolf!" Skylark thanked, not knowing where to start. It was as though it was some type of exotic food, delicious and exciting. Her right hand which wore no glove took the glove off her left hand, and she pulled back her robe like sleeve which her right arm had-- her way of dressing was rather unique and comfort based clothes. From her pocket, she took out a small bottle of hand sanitizer and she used it, she was quite a snooty person and liked to take care of her health and keep clean. "Have you ran into any kind of dangers before? If so you know what vampires and werewolves are, right?" asked Ardolf, and immediately thoughts of her past adventures flew right on by her mind... especially that hungry vampire. That was, was too close for comfort. "Those are just two things that live here but I must say this. Not all of them are bad creatures. Some are just misunderstood. Others like to help because that's just who they are." he added and once more, Skylark began to think critically... his words were a little off. Already she had spotted a few differences, and already her rod had warned her... so, it was not easy to believe but it was possible that perhaps... perhaps he is a vampire! No wait... a vampire does not drink coffee nor does he eat garlic... then in that case...
Skylark smiled. So... he spoke from first hand experience, hm? Perhaps it was too early to think of him as a werewolf, but, if he were, then he's a nice one. If he wasn't, and was in fact a human like she thought he was, then it made no difference.
Once more, her train thought had come to an end when he asked her another question. Her combat skills... shameful. She smiled nervously, embarrassed to confess she had no way to defend herself aside her rod and her martial arts? Perhaps martial arts wasn't the words, rather, her flipping, kicking and overall her flexibility. She was fit to get a job at the circus doing the most dangerous jobs that required height and skill, but that was because her grandparents trusted she wouldn't need to learn hand to hand combat with the rod. "Um... well... I can't actually fight. I'm a fast runner though um... I get tired easily when running. I can do back flips and cartwheels... but when it comes to fighting I just flash my rod and run away while they're blinded," Skylark said in chuckles, trying to make light of the situation. It was true, she ran a great danger by just roaming around, but she had great faith in her rod and her running. She was too scared and frightened to return to where she had come from; she couldn't trust her family any more. She took the burger and got bite of it... it tasted rather well and new! She chewed and got another bite, wondering what in heck she had been missing all her life- why would her grandparents keep her from indulging herself every once in a while?

Ardolf smiled. 'Blinding her enemy so she could run away.' He had never heard that one before. Still nothing surprised him really with what world they lived in. "Well, in some cases many creatures around here can be fast runners too and if they arent blinded by your rod then...Well, if you wish to stick around I can help you. I know how to weld a sword and everything like that." He patty was down now so he began to fix his up. "I can also help you put that speed and your flips into combat as well." He walked over got him a cup and walked back over to the fridge and poored himself a cup of milk as well. Then he walked over to the chair next to her. "Its up to you though. No preasure." It had been awhile sense he had a burger himself and man he could cook. Smiling he looked over at her. "I have four bedrooms upstairs. One of which you can have if you do wish to stay. My house is your house." He'd hoped he wasnt being to forward but it was just the way he was. A kind man. A giver and never wanted anything in return. It was just him. Then he would wait for her answer. If it was yes she would stay then he would ask a few questions of his own.

Outside deep in the forest while the two were talking and while things were winding down and it looked like they would have a peaceful end to there night all of a sudden lightning started to fall from the sky like rain but the odd thing was that there was no rain and the lightning was all in one area hitting one particular part of the beautiful Night Rain Forest. Whatever the reason for the strange light show in the sky..one thing was certain no one caught in it would live unless they weren't quite human but something else. This is Raiden: 5 Minutes before the lightning storm: Running with everything he had and jumping over all kinds of bushes and tree branches it looked like this would be it for Rai..." Crap....crap...crap!!" He kept pushing himself and as he ran he looked over his shoulder and he saw 2 werewolves easily jumping and moving around the same trees he was and he saw that they were gaining on him" Go eat someone else!!!!" He saw a pair of fallen trees ahead and in between them he saw a small hole in the branches and he pushed hard and lowered lightly and then he dove and he made it through the hole head first and when he landed he rolled and got back to his feet so he wouldn't lose any speed and he smiled a little as he looked back and he thought that there was no way they could break through it. " Try to get through that you over sized...." Just as he was about to finish that line he saw the two run right through the blockade and break it to peaces." Aw crap spoke to soon!!" He looked forward and he saw a clearing and his eyes got wide as time slowed ( he saw a vision and in the vision he saw that he wouldn't be able to run fast enough on flat open ground and he saw the two werewolves jump and tackle him and he was torn apart.) He came back to reality and looked around trying to find another way but he had no other choice....he gave it all he had and he managed to gain some ground until the werewolves also hit the open area and then they started to gain quickly and as Rai reached the middle of the clearing he turned and looked to the two things that would bring his death and he started to get filled with fear but then he was all of a sudden filled with anger at the fact that he was going to be killed by creatures such as this..." Damn....you.....I hate you....I Hate You!...I HATE YOU!!!!" As he yelled something happen that has never happened to him before...A power and a warmth filled him up and he blacked out as his eyes turned glowing white and electricity filled them and then he head went back and his mouth opened and lightning shot from his body in all directions and the clouds above were charged by the sudden lightning storm below and they two started to send down lightning bolts and as the bolts hit the ground they cut deep into it and the wolves were hit and cooked on the spot and they were caught on fire and in seconds they were cooked so much from inside out that all that remained of them were pure black, burnt carcases and you couldn't tell what they were when you looked at them..... Back to current events: After the lightning stopped the clouds faded away and a strong smell of burnt wood, meat and ground was in the air and Rai the boy who was running for his life and blacked out and fallen to the ground unconscious and in a perfect circle the ground that was around him was untouched by the destruction that had taken the area showing to those who would find him that either the gods themselves protected the boy or that the boy was more than just human.....or maybe it was both only time would tell. There were no fires and a slight breeze came from the east to blow the smell of death towards Ardolfs cabin.

Skylark ate slowly as she usually would, listening to what he had to said and agreed; her knowledge would go well with hand to hand combat and such. Already, he had given her so much hospitality, and he had yet to stop apparently because he now offered her to stay the night and perhaps learn from him combat. She smiled, taking a another bite and drinking some milk before she actually gave it a thought. Sure, he was a kind person, but wasn't she taking perhaps too much advantage? Or was this some sort of trap to let down her guard? Skylark finally came to an agreement with her own mind, and nodded. "Sure, I'm sure I could use some combat training," she replied, taking another final bite to her fulfilling burger.
Then, out of no where, she heard the roar of thunder swept across the land... that was odd. Skylark got up, having finished her burger and drinking the rest of the milk and put the plate into the sink where after she began to walk towards the door that led outside. "Um... I'm just going to check what's going on outside... it's sorta odd that there's lightning when it wasn't raining earlier..." Skylark explained. Today seemed like a nice day, no rain meant she didn't have to be on her guard that much and the reason why she liked continuing on her journey, otherwise she would have camped if it were to rain. She'd hate to know her rain prediction was false, but to her content and curiosity, she found that there was indeed no rain but much lighting in a particular spot or so it seemed. "H-Hey Ardolf, check this out..." Skylark said, unable to make much of it. Immediately, she walked to her Rod di Chandra and went out the door, hesitant because her rod may attract lightning. As of yet, she was unable to smell any scent because of her human status so Skylark believed this phenomenon to be nothing more than just a freak lighting show by mother nature. She noticed the clouds but dismissed paranormal activity based on the geography being a rain forest where rain and lightning may happen all the time.

Ardolf smiled. He was so happy to hear she would stay around but then the unsally sounds of nature clashed and it got her curious. Watching her get up he quickly did the same and followed her. He wasn't letting her out of his sight with the dangers around here now that she agreed to stay with him. She was his responsibility. He would give his life to protect her.
As they walked outside the smell of burning fur and flesh caught him off guard. 'Oh, god' he thought. Then looking to Skylark he rushed over to her. "Wait, Skylark. Something doesnt feel right. Please stay by me." Looking around he didnt want her to notice him sniffing so he tried without to much notice. Following the smell he kept an eye on everything around them then suddenly stumbled on the two dead werewolves. Ardolf eyes closed. He turned to Skylark. "Werewolves," he manged. He wasnt sure if they were ones he knew but then Skylark spotted a boy. Looking just a few feet away from the werewolves he was kind of relived but yet still he had to be on his toes about this boy. Walking over to him he saw a ring around him burned into the ground and around him. 'The werewolves were after him,' he thought. 'Maybe I didnt know them then.' But that would be said after the boy would come too.
Bending down Ardolf could see he was breathing. Opening an eye lid he was out cold. He looked up at Skylark. "We need to get him back to my cabin and maybe you can seat with him while I get some stuff to help his some of the cuts on him." Their were just a few of them. Very small but he still wanted to bandge them up. So tucking his right arm under his back and the left under his knees he picked the boy up and began to carry him back to his cabin.
Walking into the cabin he began to walk up the stairs he had Skylark open the first room on the right. He walked over to the bed as Skylark rolled down the covers and Ardolf placed him on the bed. Then she began to cover him up. Ardolf walked out to the room across the hall to the bathroom. He grabbed a wash cloth and put it under the fosit to get cold water on it. Then he walked it back to Skylark to put on his forehead. "I'll be right back to get the medicene to help heal his wounds." Ardolf walked back out and down the hall to his bedroom. He has his own bathroom that had his wide rang first aid kit. Grabbing it he walked back to the room and handed it to Skylark. "You'll find everything you need inside it. If he wakes up before I get done with making some specail herb drink that will help him then please let me know." He smiled at her. Knowing she could handle this. Man, he missed Amira. "I will just be a shout away. I'm sure he will be fine. Don't worry." He then turned and walked downstairs to the kitchen to make that drink.

He didn't make a sound or move a muscle after he was placed in the bed....his body was limp and he had used power and energy he didn't know he had. Sense he was young he was told he was special but he never knew why. Sense he could remember he has always been able to run for as long as he wanted without getting tired easily and he always had an uncanny ability to dodge and move with almost inhuman grace even before he was trained to hone his skills. But one thing he was never told was the reason behind everyone always saying he was special...he thought it was because his mother was an assassin but it wasn't that it was because of his father and who he was....He had gone out on his own to hunt down his mother and to get answers.
After a little while he started to dream and he saw his mother fighting a group of rogue assassins and then in the distance he saw someone or something glowing bright like the sun and the being was looking right at him and he started to run towards the glowing being and as he ran he noticed that he wasn't getting closer but farther away and he heard a voice from the light" I'll see you again.....My son...." Rai ran and started to yell" Father!!! Father!!! Wait!!!" While he was sleeping one word left his lips and he was low but it was easy to understand.." Fa..ther...." Rai moved a little and slowly his eyes started to flutter open and he could barely make out the silhouette of a person and he tried to speak but he couldn't say much and then he started to try and sit up but he felt a hand on his chest holding him and he couldn't fight it so he fell back and rested again.
