Sophia put her hands on the wheel as she watched the girl leave. Smiling as she watched her with her crewmates, all greeted her high praise and friendly hellos. Then she disappeared. She then looked out into the sea. How she loved this big body of water so. Then she noticed Vorska out of the corner of her eye. "She will do nicely here, dont you think? Good head on her shoulders and willing to listen and learn. She reminds me of..." She let her voice drift off. Captin BlackJack was the man that taught her everything she knew. Why he wanted a female first mate she was never clear on but he never made her feel less of a person or anything like that. All the crew but a few listened to her but when they saw their was no change they fell in too. Now, here she was with her own crew and now a new first mate. Life was falling into place.
Then looking around she saw a another boat off in the distance. Take out her scope she looked threw it and saw the skull head and cross bones on the flag. She then put it away. "We have company," She told Vorska. "More pirates. Do we fight or run?" He was the all seeing and knowing for her. If the odds looked good she would fight but if not her boat could out run any other. Then she thought of Kat. If it was good in their favor then this would work for them. She could see what they did not only on land but how they handle each other on the sea.

"Yes." Vorska agreed, watching Kat vanish below decks. "Once she has aclimated, she will do very well."
Sophia then looked through the eyeglass and spotted the other ship, and told Vorska to investigate them. He complied, and started to channel water. The sea rippled around the other ship, assessing it's capabilities. He reported to Sophia, a smirk on his face. "They are weak, compared to us. So it should be a relatively easy takedown, perfect for Miss Wavesword's first encounter. Speaking of which, I'll go retrieve said first officer."
Vorska vaulted to the floor, landing perfectly. He then strode to the stairway that led below decks. He quickly found the room in which Kat had gone, and forgot about what she had been doing as he opened the door. Luckily she was turned away from him, and didn't notice the door opening. She was still changing, her pants on but her shirt off as she picked an adequate pirate looking top. Vorska looked with wide eyes at her, admiring her slim form and almost naked beauty, before closing the door. This time however, it made a squeak. Why?? Vorska quickly averted his eyes as Kat whirled around.
"Ahem," Vorska coughed, still staring out the door as his cheeks reddened slightly. "Uh, apologies Kat, it had slipped my mind as to what you had been doing down here. We are about to engage another ship, so hurry up. You'll get your first combat experience soon enough. So, um, see you up there." Vorska closed the door fully, and briskly walked away from where Kat was. He emerged into the sunlight, to see a flurry of activity. He cracked his neck and put a hand on his scimitar in anticipation.

Following Sofia's directions, Kat went below decks and passed through a series of confined corridors. She smiled and gave a few shy hellos to people she encountered, they either nodded or grunted in response as she made her way to a store room. Once inside she shut the door and found that there was no lock. "Oh great!" She muttered, then gave a resignated sigh. Perhaps there wasn't going to be much in the way of privacy living among a large group of people in such close quarters.
Kat rummaged through chests and sets of drawers as she helped herself to various items of clothing she found. Occassionally she would grab two similar items and swap them as she made her final selection. Gingerly, she unlaced the back of her corset and let her dress fall to her feet. SHe stepped out of it and started rolling down her high stockings. She removed her undergarments and stood naked. It felt strangely liberating but also more than a little cold so she quickly picked up the leggings she had chosen and put them on with some boots. She tied a brightly coloured sarong around her waist then started making her decision between two different shirts.
Suddenly Kat heard the door squeak and instantly folded her arms over her pert little breasts in an attempt to hide her modesty as she whirled about, her eyes wide in alarm. "Vorska?" She exclaimed in shock before her cheeks turned a deep shade of crimson in her embarassment. She listened to his apologies and watched him leave without giving any reply... she was too suprised. She let out a long breath, only just realising she had been holding it. Oh my god how embarassing! She thought to herself and started to put on her shirt. Her fingers trembled as she fastened it and her heart thudded in her chest.
As she overcame the initial shock at the first time a man had ever laid eyes on her in a form of undress... she couldn't help wondering if Vorska had liked what he saw. She approached a full length mirror and peered at herself, pulling poses and making faces at the stained reflection. She giggled in girlish excitement and tied the lower part of her shirt into a knot so it fit neatly under her bosom and revealed her midrift. She would never had dared dress so scantly clad before... must be the inner pirate influence. She added some gloves and gauntlets to her attire and started twisting her dark hair back into a ponytail as she made her way up top. Her sword in it's scabbard hung against her hip, the weight of it was nicely reassuring. She wondered if she would be using it soon. Kat found Vorska and Sofia by the wheel. The rest of the crew were in a flurry of activity around them. Trying not to look as nervous as she felt, Kat smiled at them and placed her hands on her hips.
"Okay, what do you want me to do Captain?" She asked Sofia. She tried not to look at Vorska, or notice his handsome masculine features, or his well muscled physique under his loose fitting garments. She started blushing again slightly and distracted herself by brushing her fringe out of her eyes and waited for Sofia's instructions.

Vorska stared at Kat as she came up to right in front of him, and he lowered his head and coughed slightly.
"Well, you look...like a pirate." He said, stopping himself from saying "A very sexy pirate". Vorska looked her up and down, his gaze lingering slightly on her stomach which had been left exposed.

Sophia kept her eyes in the distence until Vorska returned. She noticed he was holding himself differently then as Kat rejoined them she felt conflixing emotions dancing about the two. Looking back towards the ship, they were maybe 400 yards away now. She looked back at the two of them. "Get your heads focused on the task ahead."
She then looked among her crew and shouted, "Mr. Beck! Mr. Jones! Please come up here and take the wheel! The rest of you! Ready the cannons! And then to board!"
The crew moved like lighting as they moved to their posts. The weaker to the cannons and the stronger would board the ship after a good fight with the cannons. As the two came to the wheel she stepped to the top of the stairs. Her two most trusted at either side of her. "You best be ready. This will show you skills Kat my sweet but no worrying. I and of course Vorska..." She raised her eye brow at him as she caught him checking her out. Shaking her head she said, "We will be watching your back as I expect you to watch ours."
The ship now a 100 yards away. She could see the other captin standing tall with a bit of a frown on his face as they made eye contact she smiled at him. Raising her arm as they were just coming along side them Sophia screamed, "Fire!" as her arm went down as if this were a beginning of a race. Then the other ship captin barked the command as they began to fire theirs...

"You got it captain!" Kat replied and snapped off a quick salute. She drew her sword and held it ready at her side. The weapon felt heavy, but comforting. SHe gripped it tightly and clenched her teeth. With a great booming crescendo the cannons of both ships fired at one another and the deck rocked beneath her feet. She fought the urge to scream in fear and curl up into a ball... she knew that to do so would mean death. Her ears rang with the sounds and she heard cries and panic around her as the crew rushed to clear debris that the cannons had caused. Grappling hooks were fired over the railings of the ship and they were brought together with a great upsplash of sea water and a resounding crack. Men leaped onto the deck of Sofia's ship and there were shouts and clashes of steel as small skirmishing sword fights broke out seemingly everywhere at once.
Kat took a deep breath to compose herself as a rush of men headed their way, seemingly intent on murdering their captain. Kat would give her life if need be in service to Sofia...

Vorska started to channel Earth, eyes and hair growing dark. He raised a hand, and a massive spike impaled the enemy ship, pinning it in place. He then channeled Air, drew his scimitar, and went at the enemy. He was literally a whirlwind, his sword slicing and impaling pirates, while high speed winds lifted them off their feet to his whirling blade. The scimitar then morphed into a double-bladed weapon; this is when Vorska truly became a whirlwind of death.
When he had dispatched all of his immediate enemies, Vorska channeled Water to wash over the ship. Their crew remained unharmed, while the malevolent pirates were knocked down or just were swept off the ship altogether.

Kat could only watch as Vorska single handedly decimated their enemies. She couldn't help but feel a pang of disapointment. Is this adventure? She thought, watching their enemies flushed into the ocean without any struggle. There didn't seem to be any honor involved here. She sheathed her unused sword. She had been right to suspect there had been something supernatural about him. She didn't think she would get to learn any skills this way.

Vorska looked over to where Kat was, only to see an enemy pirate behind her wth a sword drawn high. Pointing a finger, he shouted, "Look out!"
Kat would get some experience using the cutlass very soon, if she managed to survive.

"Stupid! Stupid!" Kat cursed herself as she whirled about to see a sword shashing down for her head. She had a row of throwing knives in matching sheaths along her belt, she had one of the small daggers out in the blink of an eye and hurled it at the pirate even as she was still turning. The blade flashed end over end until it struck home and embedded itself in the pirate's neck. With a bubbling gurgle, the man dropped down dead.
"Whoa." Kat breathed and felt her heart beating furiously in her chest. It was the first time she had killed someone. She felt like she wanted to throw up. She quickly turned and waved a hand towards Vorska. "Thanks, I definately owe you!"
Relieved that she had survived an almost fatal mistake, Kat drew her sword and decided it was definately a wise idea to keep it drawn until the fight was over...

The captin of the other ship made his way over onto Sophia's ship without anyone seeing him. As Sophia fought one of the crew men she yelled to Vorska, "No Vorska! I've told you before don't kill them all. We much take some as prisinors and then still supples from their ship! Never kill all of them you..." Suddenly the captin came out of no where and stabbed Sophia in the right shoulder blade but it didn't go threw but the tip did go a little deep. She let out a horrible scream of pain as she turned lifting her sword and was about to slice his arm but he blocked it with his own.
"Ah, so it is true then."
"That you will die by my hand!"
"No, that you are still alive."
She looked confussed. "Of course. Who would say otherwise?"
"An old friend of yours. He has been looking for you. Heard he will stop at nothing to find you again."
"Who?"
"Well, from what I understood you cut off his ear."
Her eyes grew wide as she then in one quick move waved her blade and plugged it into his chest into his heart. He was dead before he hit the floor. She turned as she saw that the crew men of his ship, those that were left have given up. Her own crew men shouted in their victory and began to pilege their emenies ship in taking things for their own.
Sophia put her sword in her holder as she put her left hand over the back of her right shoulder. The blood was running down her back but she really didn't feel it. Her mind was on him. She thought he was dead but it seemed he wasn't. Their was only one man she had ever feared in her life and he was it. God she couldn't face him again and she hoped she never would. She looked over at Vorska, he was the only one that new about him. No one, not even her old captin knew because she thought she was free of him. The acted of cutting his ear off was in self defense so she could get away and she did but seemed she didnt get far enough.
Then she looked at Kat who was walking over to her all excited until she saw the blood. Sophia spoke before she could get a word out. "I'm fine Kat. Its not that deep because it didn't go all the way threw. I will live." She then looked at Vorska as she walked down the stairs. "Let's finish up here. I will be in my quartes. Let me know when we are a good distences away." She walked to her door and opened the door and walked in. She then leaned against the door as she closed her eyes then walked over to bed. Knowing they will be in quickly sense she was bleeding and they needed to stop her bleeding she just needed one moment to herself before she faced the horrible ugly truth that he was indeed alive and looking for her to pay her back for what she had done.

Kat watched her captain go below decks and chewed her bottom lip nervously. Sofia had caught a nasty wound there and Kat had almost thought she'd been killed. Still shaking from the shock of battle, but fuelled by adrenaline Kat waved her sword in the air and shouted a repeat of Sofia's words. "Let's finish up!"
The survivors of the other crew gave up without much of a fight and they were lead below decks in chains to await Sofia's judgement. As things calmed down and they set sail once again Kat found Vorska and nodded gratefully to him. "Thanks for warning me about that guy earlier... I could have.. you know, well... thanks anyway." She gave him a thin smile and left him to his duties as everyone else went about theirs, knowing exactly what they were doing. MOst were making repairs on the hull of the vessel. Kat started to feel like she was getting in the way so she headed below decks and went to Sofia's quarters.
Kat knocked on Sofia's door and called, "Captain are you okay? You want me to bandage your wound or anything?"

Vorska was already in the captains quarters when Kat opened the door, asking about helping Sophia. He was already hard at work dressing Sophias wounds, and soothing it with a globe of clear water. He turned at the first mates approach, and nodded quickly. "Come here, and hold these." Vorska grunted, motioning to the bandages.
When Kat came and held them, Vorska moved to grab a hard thin piece of wood. Coming back, he explained quickly to Kat. "I don't want her losing more blood than is neccesary, and I don't want an infection to start either. Hence you putting pressure on it, and the pure water." Looking Kat in the eye, he lowered his voice a fraction. "You can let go now, I've got it. Unfortunately, this will hurt."
Vorska put the thin piece of wood into Sophias mouth, teeth clenching it, and removed the bandage. He turned slightly to Kat, a grimace on his face. "You might want to look away." He then channelled fire, and wreathed his hands in the element. Reaching forward, he seared the wound.
About thirty seconds later, Vorska was done. "That's the best we can do right now, without a proper healer. It won't bleed anymore, and it should be sufficient until we next make port." Vorska turned away from Sophia, and sighed heavily. His twinkling eyes looked into Kat's, and he c*cked his head. "Well? Aren't you going to ask how I can 'control the elements'? That's what most new crew members ask after a display like the one I put up a couple minutes ago."

Sophia sighed as Vorska cam into her quarters to dress her wound she wanted to yell and fight him buto that was only because of what she learned moments ago. She was about to tell him when a knock came at the door and in walked Kat. She remaded quiet as she listened to them talk and flirt. Letting out a sigh she layed back and just listened. Suddenly she found herself fast asleep.

Relieved the dressing of the wound was over Kat shuddered and stared away for a moment in silence. Truth be told she had seen more gore and violence in the tavern, but this was the first time she had had to help patch up someone whom she liked.
She turned back to Vorska when he asked why she didn't seem curious about his abilities. "Well Mr Vorska, I've learned that a man's business is his own, especially anyone with a supernatural gift. I figured you'd tell me more about your powers if you chose to." She gave a quick smile then looked to Sofia and noticed she had gone to sleep. Kat studied her for a moment and sighed. "She looks so... peaceful when she sleeps. You can hardly recognise her." She brushed a loose strand of hair from the woman's face and studied her a moment longer in her peaceful repose before standing up. "Well, I had better get topside and start trying to throw my weight around. Come and find me if you wish to tell me more about your 'display' earlier, Vorska."
Kat nodded respectfully to the pair of them and left to return to the upper deck...
